Robert McTague Realtor of the Year

Robert McTague, real estate broker, has been named Realtor of the Year by the Coral Gables Board of Realtors. Charles Burns was named Associate Realtor of the Year at the same meeting, held Monday noon at the Elks Club. The selections, formerly made at the end of the year, were moved up to coincide with National Realtor Week, which is this week. McTague, owner of Lester and McTague Inc., a Gables real estate firm, has served as a director in the organization and an Federal Housing Authority appraiser. He has also served on the board of directors of the State Board of Directors and with the Red Cross and the United Fund. McTague has worked with the City of Coral Gables in solving its off street parking problems. Burns is a salesman with Douglas E. Staples. He has served as chairman of the Grievance Committee for the associates. Three new members were inducted into the organization by Frank Perry, Fourth District vice president. They are Joseph P. Magruder, Delio Cruz and Hugh R. Crocker. ROBERT MCTAGUE

Drunk Drivers Get Suspended Jail Sentences

A Coral Gables man and a Coconut Grove man were convicted in Metro Court last week of driving while intoxicated. Judge Thomas N. Balikes sentenced George L. Perin III, of 3801 Irvington Ave., to 48 hours in jail but suspended the sentence. Perin was found not guilty of reckless driving, but guilty of driving without a license and fined an additional $75. Judge Mattie Bell Davis, found Hugh Booher, of 540 Minorca, guilty of a single charge of drunk driving and suspended a 48-hour jail sentence, fined him a total of $160 and suspended his driver's license for three months.

Gables Savings Men in N. Y.

George B. Caster, president of Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan Association, and Inman Padgett, senior vice president, traveled to New York City this week to attend the United States Savings and Loan League Management Conference.

Sinner at Home

One person who attended Coral Gables First Presbyterian Church Aprill 22 did not go there to pray. He pried open a window, forced his way in and took two electric typewriters, according to Coral Gables police. One of the typewriters was found later behind the church at 121 Alhambra Plaza, but the second is still missing.
