More Golfers
A substantial increase in play at the Biltmore Golf Course over the last weekend (74 more than the preceding weekend) was attributed by Pro-Manager Bill Tinder to the elimination of reserved starting times. "There were players out here I haven't seen in months," said Tinder. He reports that play on a first-come, first-served basis resulted in the golfers getting off more promptly and without confusion. "As a public course, we aim to please the convenience of the largest number of players. Now we are doing that," Tinder added.
Ponce Asks Students To Call Office
James J. Norton, principal of Ponce de Leon Junior High School, requests that all seventh, eighth or ninth grade students now living in the Ponce area who have not yet registered for the fall term register at the school office, 5801 Augusto St. The office will be open any day except Saturday and Sunday. Students must come in person to register, bringing with them a report card or transfer from the previous school which shows grade placement. Parents need not accompany them. It is expected that all pupils will be enrolled and ready to start classes on Sept. 5. Any seventh, eighth, or ninth grade student who is now enrolled at Ponce de Leon, but who has moved out of that area, should obtain a transfer from the Ponce de Leon office to the proper school.
Man's Leg Broken In Mishap Here
A 62-year-old man suffered a broken leg late Friday morning when he was pinned between two cars after one of the cars had brake failure. Max Green, of 5731 SW 22nd St., received a fracture of the left leg above the left knee when he was struck by Domenic Ralph Silvestri, 32, of Miami Springs, according to Officer Macon Hazen. Green was pinned between Silvestri's car and a parked car owned by Deel Motors at the company lot near Le Jeune Road and Granello Avenue. Hazen said Silvestri claimed that his brakes failed as he was approaching Green. A check after the accident showed that the brake pedal went all the way down to the floorboard. No charges were filed in the accident.
Boiler Explodes
A gas fired boiler accidentally exploded at Cookies Restaurant, 139 Miracle Mile, shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday. No serious damage was reported except to the boiler. Firemen said there was no fire.
More Space, Better Facilities At Hill's Store
Gary Hill recently completed his expansion program by doubling the size of his store. "The former store could not continue to serve the demands of my customers," Hill explained, "with the ever-increasing introduction of new garden products more display and warehouse space was needed." The large display room features the finest garden equipment on the market. AN "ACE" Gary Hill, proprietor of Ace Lawn Mower Shop, is an ace at getting the most stubborn mower clicking again. A native of Cleveland, Hill migrated here and worked in North Miami before buying his own business, Ace Lawn Mower Shop, at 2232 SW 32nd Ave. When you need top-notch repair work done, go to the top man. Hill is past president of the South Florida Lawn Mower Service Association. This organization is a group of men who are honest, reliable, and established businessmen in the field. They back up their work with honest, reliable techniques, and their slogan is, "To Better Serve You, The Public." Ace Lawn Mower Shop is sales headquarters for two of the top names in the lawn mower field . . . Toro and Jacobsen. These mowers can fill any need you can think of. They come in various models: reel and rotary types. In our area, there are people with small, tidy city gardens, and people with lots of area that is kept in a more natural state, and people that must keep acreage with groves in good condition. At Ace Lawn Mower Shop, each one of these fellows can solve his lawn mower purchasing problems. Hill employs a unique "X test" for those men who are considering buying a lawn mower from him. It's a test you have to see to believe, but one that proves that the machines from Ace Lawn Mower will make a good showing against any brand. Try the "X Test" when you have a machine repaired here, too! If you own any garden maintenance equipment that you don't feel is operating up to par, take it by Ace Lawn Mower Shop for a check-up. You will get expert service on mowers, edgers, etc. You can get your present mower sharpened in a hurry, too. All work turned out is guaranteed, of course. Gary Hill is convinced that most people judge their neighbors by the appearance of their lawns and gardens. He's determined that the people who bring him their problems, whether in the sales or service department, will have the best-operating equipment to turn out a proud job on his own plot of earth, big or small. If you have any questions, call Ace Lawn Mower Shop, HI 8-1618, or stop by the shop, just off Coral Way, at 2232 SW 32nd Ave. Don't let too much time pass, during this season . . . just listen to that grass grow out there! Remember too . . . Ace Lawn Mower Shop is fully equipped to sharpen any type construction equipment. GARY HILL of Ace Lawn Mower Shop, 2232 SW 32 Ave., recently announced the opening of a new enlarged store.

QUESTION: We are both over 70. Would you advise us to travel to see relatives and friends in Europe? ANSWER: In these days of competent and advanced medical care, you would be as safe as you are at home. Moreover, such a trip would add zest and be beneficial in many ways.
