Lankford, Witters, Honeymoon In N.C. After Plymouth Wedding
Off on a honeymoon trip to North Carolina are Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Lankford whose wedding took place Saturday at the Plymouth Congregational Church, Coconut Grove. The bride, the former Miss Diane Witters, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Witters, of 4200 Alhambra Cir., Coral Gables. The groom, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Lankford, of 1721 SW 11th Ter., and Tyron, N.C. Father gave away bride. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of silk organza, with imported hand drawn Alencon lace, encrusted in seed pearls. The fitted bodice was designed with open lace trimmed neckline, bracelet length sleeves, full bouffant skirt highlighted with lace motifs and full regal train. Her French illusion veil fell from a pearl crown and she carried a bouquet of white roses centered with pink sweetheart roses. Miss Jill Faust was maid of honor, and bridesmaid was Sherry Berman, and Debbie Kelly who served as junior bridesmaid. They wore identical gowns of silk frosted lilac organza, with matching accessories, Dior bows, with veils and carried fans covered with Vanda orchids. Wallace Lankford was best man for his brother, and ushers were George Hoyt, Conrad Barlow, William Hardwick, R. G. Witters, James Karr, and Roney Reynolds. Single Ring Ceremony. Dr. David J. Davis, pastor at Plymouth Church officiated at he 3 p.m. single ring ceremony, and the reception followed in the beautiful gardens adjoining the church. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Witters wore a light blue satin gown made on princess lines with matching flower hat and Vanda orchids. Mother of the groom was in dusty rose peau de soie with matching small hat and Vanda orchids corsage. The bride wore her grandmother's diamond cross and carried the same lace hankerchief, carried by mother, and her sister, Mrs. Grant Rust Jr. The hankerchief had been hand made by the bride's great-great-grandmother. Among the out of town guests were Mrs. Grant Rust Jr., of Sebring, and Mr. and Mrs. George Prichard and George Jr., of Augusta, Ga. The bride is a graduate of Coral Gables High School. The groom attended Coral Gables High School and was graduated from Tyron High School, Tyron, N.C. The couple will reside at 6300 SW 123rd Ave., Miami.
Rennick First Guest of Coffee Club
Members and guests of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce will hear Ralph Rennick, vice-president and head of the News Department of WTVJ, discuss his recent visit to the State Department in Washington, Sept. 14. Rennick was called with a group of other newmen for a briefing presumably, on the handling of international news. He will be the primary guest at the Chamber-sponsored Coffee Club meeting at the Coral Way Cafeteria, 147 Miracle Mile, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., a week from today. This will be the first meeting of the newly-organized Coffee Club. It was set up at the request of Chamber members interested in current events. The club will meet monthly, with a different chamber sponsor each month. The first meeting is sponsored by the Coral Gables Federal Savings

Coco Women ‘Plum’ Busy
Coco Plum Woman's Club was the guest group of the Suniland Center Brunch, last Wednesday. Present to accept a check for $70 from the Suniland Merchants Association, was Mrs. Rita Davant, president. The club's largest community project is their free lending library, complete with the latest books, with a circulation of almost 14,000. The club also assists the Kendall Home, the Kendall Hospital, the United Fund campaign and the anti-Communist movement by providing the club members with courses and classes.
