Patricia Ann Mizell, daughter of Mrs. G. D. Mizell, 1525 Sunset Drive, has been appointed a stewardess for Delta Air Lines and will be based in Miami. After graduating from Coral Gables High School, she worked as a secretary for the Associates Loan Company in South Miami. BOONE MIZEL Patricia Ann Boone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Boone, 2030 SW 59th Ave., has completed stewardess training in Atlanta and has been assigned by Delta Air Lines to the Miami Base. Patty formerly worked as a secretary for the Dade Federal Savings and Loan Association after graduating from Coral Gables High School, where she was star twirler of the Majorettes. Frances and Jeff Willard left their home at 1015 Catalonia Ave., this week to visit friends and relatives in Southside and Williamsburg, Va., before joining their parents in Fairfax Courthouse. Their father, Ira F. Willard, recently resigned as president of City National Bank to become director of a suburban home development in Fairfax, 15 miles from Washington. Jeff was entering his senior year at Coral Gables High and Frances was a junior at Palmetto. The Willard's older son, Chick and his wife are currently in Madrid, Spain, on vacation and expect to stop by to visit on their way back to Miami. Both have been attending the University of Miami, where Mrs. Willard (Joyce) graduated this summer. Daughter Elizabeth and her husband, Dr. Paul D. Willis III and their four children will occupy the Willard's home. Navy Ens. Alan R. Suskin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Suskin of 725 Zamora Ave., recently completed a four-week indoctrination course at the Naval Officer Candidate School, in Newport, R.I. It was a smash hit on Broadway for Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Nelson, 4211 Anderson Rd., when they recently saw "Carnival," a prize-winning musical at the Imperial Theater in New York. The Banjamin Harrisons and their children, Bob, Mike, and Jane, went "underground" on their vacation in an area that's a far cry from their home at 4120 University Dr. They were visiting Carlsbad Caverns, 750 feet down in southwestern New Mexico. Anthony B. Frilingos, 536 Bird Rd., is one of 65 students in the College of Arts and Sciences at Emory University who have been named John Gordon Stipe Scholars for 1961-62. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Stoller, 4525 Anderson Rd., and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Aizenshtat, 810 Jeronimo Dr., just returned from a cruise to Nassau aboard the SS Bahama Star. Carolyn Oglesby and Louise O'Neill are enjoying their stay at the diLido Hotel on Miami Beach. They are attending the Luther League Convention. Capt. Billy A. Arthur, associate professor of military science at the University of Miami, is one of 74 ROTC instructors and rifle coaches from schools and colleges throughout the South attending a clinic designed to teach style of marksmanship at Ft. Benning, Ga. Walter D. Hanford, 1014 Granada Blvd., has returned home after completing four weeks of technical study at Bloomington, Ill. Hanford is a claim representative in Miami for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. Mildred Simpson, administrative secretary of the Coral Gables Congregational Church, will assume executive responsibilities with the United Church Board for World Ministries (formerly the American Board) in Boston, Mass., Oct. 1. This is Mildred's second tour of duty with this Board, the first having been in an executive position in India for three years. WAC Pvt. Martha J. Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond H. Myers, 1208 Douglas Rd., completed eight weeks of basic military training at the Women's Army Corps Center, Ft. McClellan, Ala., Aug. 25. She has received orders assigning her to Ft. Gordon, Ga., for further advanced individual training at the U.S. Army Signal Training Center. She is a 1961 graduate of Miami High School and was employed as a clerk-typist by the Dade County School Board before entering the corps. George V. R. "Pete" Dunan, 4170 Raynolds Ave., is busy building a new tree house for his youngsters, but he has just returned from a sailing, his first "love" trip. He delivered a 70-foot sailing craft belonging to Gerald Ross, of Hialeah, to Lisbon, Portugal, together with crew of 18. Pete, an expert sailor invited his friend David Sheffield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sheffield, of 9100 Hammock Lake Dr. to go along. Pete named David captain and Pete was engineer. They were 32 days on the cruise and made several stops, including Bermuda and the Azores. There was no hurry since the Rosses were visiting relatives in northern U.S., and Canada. When they reached Southern Spain, Pete wired his wife to fly over. She did and they took in the sights.

Insurance Men Honored By Agents Association

The Riviera Country Club was the scene of a party for two local residents who have achieved state and national recognition in the insurance business last Wednesday evening. The dinner and reception, given by the Dade County Association of Mutual Insurance Agents, honored George McKiever and former mayor Fred Hartnett. Hartnett is president of the State Association of Mutual Insurance Agents, and McKiever is national president of the group. Both are members of the local association. About 70 people were present to recognize these men. McKiever resides at 2601 Alhambra Circle and has offices on Flagler St. Hartnett, whose offices are on Ponce de Leon Boulevard, resides at 1425 Blue Rd.
