Homestead Exemption Deadline Is Mar. 30
Homesteaders, the deadline for filing exemptions is nearing. On March 30, clerks will fold their tents and head back to the County Courthouse for other chores, according to Mrs. Viola Sampson, roving clerk for Metro. If you are already registered with the County, she said, you must still return the form that was sent you to be eligible for the $5,000 exemption. Otherwise, you will lose your exemption, she said. And if you have never filed, the husband (or head of the family) must appear in person at one of the various filing stations and present evidence to qualify. This means a deed or a notarized deposit receipt on a purchase made prior to Jan. 1. The husband must also present a Dade County voter registration card or file a declaration of domicile. Also eligible for additional exemptions are disabled veterans and widows. This is for $500. There were many cancelations of Homestead exemptions last year, Mrs. Sampson pointed out because Homeowners failed to return the exemption forms sent to them by the county to facilitate filing. Mrs. Sampson is at Coral Gables City Hall three days a week to handle filing for Gables and other area residents. The office is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mrs. Clara Di Vincent will be at South Miami City Hall from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays only. In Perrine, someone will be at the Building and Zoning Department substation, 9870 Fern St., Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

NORMAL SPINE HEALTH NECESSITY By Dr. Melvin P. Deutsch
Perhaps you find it difficult to understand why Chiropractors confine their work to the spine, when remote parts of the body are diseased. But you find nothing strange about pushing a button on the wall to light a bulb. It makes no difference whether it be heart, stomach, kidneys, or some other organ. Normal functions of all organs, muscles and tissues of the body depend upon supply of the vital nerve energy conveyed to them over the nervous system from the brain which generates this energy. Nerves emit from between vertebrae, so when falls, jars or strains misplace a vertebra, pressure on nerves is produced which interferes with normal function, creating disease. Adjusting misplaced vertebrae is like pushing the button to produce light: its restored flow of vital energy and health is the natural result. To you it may seem miraculous that we can adjust vertebrae and regulate blood pressure, relieve constipation, sinus, stomach or kidney trouble; and in fact, most of the ills to which humanity is subjected. Instead of treating effects, the scientific Chiropractor seeks the cause responsible for effect, known as disease, and by proper adjustments eliminate the cause. 9601 S.W. 40 ST. TEL. 221-4843
