HARDLY THE FASHIONS you'd wear while shopping on Miracle Mile, but they'll raise memories Saturday at the Miami Panhellenic Women's "Fashions Through the Years" show-luncheon. Four Gables women who'll model are seated on a 1923 LaFrance pumper, reminiscent of that era, Left to right are Miss Margaret Earnest, chairman, 7 Alhambra P.; Mrs. Jack Knowles, past president, 1240 Mariola Ct.; Mrs. Charles Festinger, 616 Santurce Ave.; and Miss Carol Harding, 3702 Toledo St. Firefighter is Joe Shewchuk. Flapper Skirts, '63 Fashions To Mix at Panhellenic Show
Fashion trends from 1917 to the present will be modeled by members of the Miami Women's Panhellenic Association at its annual fashion show luncheon Saturday in the DuPont Plaza Hotel. Proceeds from the event will go to the College Scholarship Fund, the group's philanthropic project. In keeping with Panhellenic's program theme, "The New Image of the Fraternity Woman," fashions will include a wedding dress of the early 20th century, hobble shirts, flapper dresses and the service woman's uniform of the Second World War. Mrs. H. W. Cook Jr. will emcee the show. Also included on the program will be the presentation of the Mary B. Merritt Award to Mary Ruth Fowler, an English major in the University of Miami graduate school.
