"I REMEMBER ST. AUGUSTINE." That's the title of Maria Kakouris' picture, which won "Painting of the Week" honors at West Laboratory Elementary School. Maria, 1345 Campo Sano Ave., remembering her trip to Florida's oldest city, expressed herself in oil colors. For her efforts, her painting will be exhibited in the principal's office for a week. Dr. Glenn Thomas hopes to encourage artistic interest among the pupils by selecting each week a pupil's outstanding art work.
'Flagler Fling' Is Scheduled
A "Flagler Fling" variety show will be presented by the Henry M. Flagler Elementary School PTA, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19. The PTA sponsored a stage skit on the theme of the United Nations last Thursday, Nov. 10. The show featured elementary school boys and girls and the fourth grade chorus under the direction of Mrs. Dansky. An Honorary State Life Membership pin was presented to former principal J. Lee Logan, who is now with the Coral Way Elementary School.
