Coral Gables Pilot Club Greets Officer

First Lt. Gov. Edith Mawhinney of Hollywood was the speaker and guest of honor Wednesday when the Pilot Club of Coral Gables honored the new officer on her yearly official visit. The dinner meeting took place at 7 p.m. at the Country Club of Coral Gables. Miss Mahinney came to Florida in 1952 from Cleveland. She has been a member of Pilot for seven years. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association, Panhellenic Association and the Florida and National Association of Mutual Insurance Agents. The Pilot Club of Coral Gables is a service club of business and professional executive women whose clubs are international in scope.

Doll Tea Party Set For Friday

The Cutler Ridge Woman's Club will be hostess for a Doll Tea Party from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Cutler Ridge Community Center. A beautiful display of foreign and antique dolls owned by Mrs. Sydney Olsen, president of the Miami Doll Club, will be shown. Refreshments will be served. Mrs. Anton Hughes and Mrs. Joseph Leach are co-chairmen. Mrs. Patrick Hughes and Mrs. R. D. McCoy will have charge of refreshments and decorations. Mrs. Cecil Boggs and Mrs. John Clark may be contacted for tickets which are 50 cents.

Bogey Tourney Brings Out 42

Members of the Women's Golf Association of the Country Club of Coral Gables turned out 42 strong Friday. The tournament was Blind Bogey. Seven members scored 41. They were Mrs. Stanley Burke, Mrs. Alfred Mathers, Mrs. Albert Eichmann, Mrs. A. M. Dohre, Mrs. John Beaumont, Mrs. Rolla Budde and Mrs. Ed Lawson. Bogey in golf is a score for each hole of the course estimated as that of skilful but not necessarily perfect play. The score is assumed to be that of an imaginary player, Colonel Bogey.

Skysteppers Will Model

Pilots Wives Club (Delta Airlines) call themselves the Skysteppers. Today, the Skysteppers are presenting their annual fashion show luncheon at the Skyways Hotel. Models will include Mrs. Virginia Buise, Mrs. Margaret Moline, Mrs. Billie Murphy, Mrs. Barbara Moore, Mrs. Ava Wheat, Mrs. Sybil Reynolds and Mrs. Phyllis Daggett. Guests will include Ed Bishop, district manager of Delta Airlines; Mrs. C. R. Hard, president of Eastern Airlines Pilot Wives Club, Mrs. B. B. Wilson, president of the Clippers Club, and Mrs. Thomas M. Sutor, president of National Pilots Wives Club.

First Birthday

The Coral Gables Chapter of Hope School for Retarded Children celebrated its first birthday, Nov. 15. The celebration featured a luncheon at Park Lane Cafeteria, Coral Way and SW 22nd Ave. Entertainment was provided by children from the school.

Mrs. T. W. Hutson Is PTA Officer

Mrs. T. W. Hutson Jr. is chairman of program for the Sunset Elementary School Parent Teacher Association for 1961. She presided at a meeting Tuesday entitled "Off to a Seminar." Mrs. Grover Angell, state chairman of spiritual education, was the speaker. Approximately 190 people attended.

Reception Will Fete Mrs. Brezo

Mrs. Esther Brezo, director of the Junior Repertory Theater, will be honored at a reception Sunday at the Ewing Gallery, 362 Minorca. Assisting will be Mr. and Mrs. Upton Ewing, whose young daughter has studied with Mrs. Brezo. Mrs. Brezo has had many years of experience with children in dramatics and through the Junior Repertory Theater. Regular performances are held at the Gallery Theater on Giralda.
