In South Miami Kiwanis Club will hold Peanut Day
By EDWIN KNIGHT Staff Writer Even before the inaugu- ration of President-Elect Jimmy Carter, the South Miami Kiwanis Club is having its first annual Peanut Day on Saturday, Dec. 11, to raise money for the club's youth work in the South Miami area. The peanuts are dry roasted and packed in foil bags for sale at shopping centers and at intersec- tions in the area. According to Peanut Day Chairman Michael Esses, members of the South Miami Kiwanis, their families and repre- sentatives of South Miami High School Key Club, Westminster Christian School Key Club and the University of Miami Cir- cle K will be selling the bags of nuts, with canis- ters available for contri- butions. Youth oriented projects and charities which are helped by the South Miami Kiwanis Club in- clude Kendall Children's Home, Kiwanis Youth- land, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, two Khoury League teams and Miami-Dade Junior Col- lege Foundation. Also, Westminster School Key Club, South Miami High School Key Club, Goodwill Industries Youth Job Program and the University of Miami Circle K Club.
