Fleamarket, smorgasbord are a few of week's events | religion

The Holiday Flea market of the Coral Way United Methodist Church will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the church grounds at 7900 Coral Way. Specialties will be baked goods and Christmas ideas. Danger? Services will be held at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at Temple Beth Tov, 6438 SW Eighth St. The Rabbi Charles Rubel will speak on "Is the Jewish American Family a Danger to the Future of Judaism in America?" An Oneg Shabbat will follow the service. The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Tov will hold their annual Canukah Smorgasbord at the temple, Sunday, Dec. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $4.75 for adults and $1.75 for children under 12. Musical program The women of the Old Cutler Presbyterian Church will hold a musical program at the church, 14401 Old Cutler Road Satuday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. The program will feature Frank Jacobs, soloist and Bill Schaffer, accompanist. Winter disco The Singletarians of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Miami, 7701 SW 76th Ave., will hold a Winter Wonderland Disco Party, Saturday, Dec. 11 at 9 p.m. Call Arte Gregory, 443-7534 for information. Children's study A learning unit for grade school children, entitled "Why and How Christians Worship" will be sponsored Dec. 5, 12 and 19, by the Plymouth Congregational Church, 3429 Devon Road. Christmas bazaar The Ladies Guild of St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church will hold its second annual Christmas Bazaar Dec. 3, 4 and 5 at the Syrian Lebanon American Club at 2626 SW Third Ave., from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Ten booths will feature Christmas gifts, handmade items, clothing, a snack bar, childrens toys and much more. Santa Claus will be present to welcome children. Wall talking "Talking to a Wall," will be the theme of a sermon by Rabbi Herbert Baumgard at the Friday, Dec. 3 service at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Dinner-dance A Christmas Dinner-Dance, for the benefit of St. Hugh Church and School, will take place at Immaculata La Salle Auditorium, 3601 S. Kindl Markt The fifth annual Christ Kindl Markt sponsored by the Lutheran Christian Day school of St. James and St. Matthew's Lutheran Churches will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the street of 110 Poinsettia Ave. Christmas decorations, gifts, and baked goods will be for sale. Church play "Godperson," an original play satirizing political bureaucracy, sexism and some aspects of traditional religious belief, can be seen in its premier performance, Sunday, 5 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 7701 SW 76th Ave. Tickets to the play, written and directed by Unitarian Universalist member, Jim Barry, are $2 at the door, $1.50 in advance. Christmas boutique A christmas luncheon and boutique will be held Friday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. by the United Methodist Women of the Bryan Memorial United Methodist Church, 3713 Main Hwy. The luncheon will begin at noon and the sale will continue from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The sale will feature Christmas items, plant book and "high class rummage." White elephant The Cutler Ridge United Methodist Church, 20740 Old Cutler Road, will hold a white elephant sale, at noon Dec. 4. For more information, call 235-6309. Dizencoff street A "Stroll Down Dizencoff Street" will be presented by Temple Beth Am Sisterhood on Wednesday, Dec. 8 in the Temple Social Hall, 5950 N. Kendall Dr. at 9:30 a.m. The sisterhood will present many fine artists and craftsmen demonstrating such talents as quilting, painting, macrame, weaving and a beautiful display of hibiscus. The public is invited. Plymouth Congregational Plymouth Preschool of Plymouth Congregational Church will hold its annual bazaar on Friday, Dec. 3, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Homemade craft items, baked goods, plants and a cookbook featuring nutritional recipes for children will be on sale. There will also be a silent auction and flea market. Plymouth Congregational Chruch is located at 3429 Devon Road (Main High and Devon Road) in Coconut Grove.

College to have open house
