Police blotter

Coral Gables Paul J. Bouley of 5931 SW 95th Ct., reported to police that someone removed the plugs of his boat while at the canal at 5100 Riveira Dr., causing it to sink. Ester H. Peters, 52, of 1002 Salzedo St., reported someone smashed the driver's side window of his car with a BB gun. Dennis Renuart, 25, of 230 Phonetia, also reported someone shattered the front window of his car with an unknown object. Haas C. Carter, 13001 Nevado St., reported someone stole his bicycle worth $80 while it was parked on the 3000 block of San Mateo. John K. Ladet, 18, accidentally shot himself with a friend's .22 caliber revolver. Ladet of 12700 Old Cutler Rd., was at the home of Tom Jones, 1601 Lugo Ave., when he dropped Jones' weapon and a bullet struck him in the calf. He was taken to South Miami Hospital. Gary S. Greenberg reported that someone stood on the third floor of his apartment complex at 1014 Salzedo St., and fired between four to six times in rapid fire. Katherine Leggett, 219 Menores Ave., reported that someone took her wallet from inside her purse while she was in her office at 1540 Levante Ave. South Miami Ella Louise Stones, 6260 SW 57th Ct., reported that her wallet was removed from her purse in the housekeeping office of Larkin General Hospital. The contents of the wallet, aside from papers, was set at $14.50. Royar J. Everett, 4840 SW 64th Ct., reported that a 26 inch bicycle valued at about $60 was removed from his garage which had been left open. Emmale White, 6711 SW 62nd Ct., reported the theft of $883 in goods after entrance was made through a jalousie window at the rear of her home. Taken were a television set, a sewing machine, clothing, a bottle of gin and a wrist watch. South Dade Nellie Contreras, 8761 SW 200th Terr., reported that a jewelry box, jewelry and liquor worth about $4,000 were taken from her home between Jan 27 and 31. Carol Katzman, 13900 SW 152nd St., reported that her $100 kitten was stolen along with a camera and boots worth $365, Sunday, Jan. 30. Employees of F&R Builders, reported that lamps, pictures, mirrors, drapes and an ashtray, worth a total of $1,663 were stolen from a model home at 18221 SW 87th Ave. Members of the Church of Christ, 10495 SW 170th St., reported that two hand microphones worth $100 were stolen sometime between Sunday, Jan. 30 and Monday, Jan. 31. William Henghold, 16140 SW 107th Ave., reported that his home was broken into between Sunday, Jan. 30 and Monday Jan. 31 but he is still unsure what was taken. West Dade Ronald Kneen, 4370 SW 115th Ave., reported that someone shot his dog in the leg with a .22 rifle on Saturday, Jan. 29. Bruce Cooke, 1190 SW 78th Pl., reported that an outboard motor was hacksawed off his boat that had been parked in his driveway on Friday, Jan. 28. Regina St. Clair, a patient at Westchester Hospital, 7500 SW 24th St., reported that $18 in cash and a checkbook were stolen from her purse sometime between Monday, Jan. 24 and Wednesday, Jan. 26. She stated that her purse had been shut in a closet. Employees at the Youth Fair Grounds, 107th Avenue and 24th St., reported that stereo equipment worth $200 was stolen from a recreational show vehicle on Thursday, Jan. 27. Sylvia Espinosa reported that while doing her laundry at Cleantown, 8440 SW 24th St., her purse was stolen by two men. Mrs. Espinosa says she chased one man three blocks before he escaped in a white Chevrolet. Her purse contained $25 plus miscellaneous IDs. A home owned by Fred Martin at 6050 SW 109th Ct., had five front windows, all front windows, smashed on Wednesday, Jan. 26. The damage totaled around $500.
