Qualifying begins noon, Feb. 7

From Page 1 sioner who is not elected mayor, can still remain on the city commission. Jacobson, who in 1976 said he was definitely not running for the mayorship, apparently has changed his mind. His term on the commission is up this year, so he will have to run for commissioner as well as mayor. So will Dunn, who said he plans to qualify at noon on Monday. Dunn, who was municipal court judge in the city until Jan. 3, said he was encouraged by Mayor Knight to run for office. Mayor Knight announced last year that he would not run for mayor again, and has not changed his mind. "I think four years is enough since I have devoted full time to the mayor's job," said Knight. "I'm really honored that so many people have urged me to run, but I've been honest with them and told them that I wouldn't," he said.
