CORAL GABLES "Young Marrieds" sponsored a "Harvest-for-Health" coffee recently to raise funds for completion of the Heart Pavilion at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Annual Easter Egg hunt for the young children of members of the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club will be held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. James L. Anderson, 3734 Main Highway. ★ ★ ★ Pictures of the Jacksonville Rose Show will be shown Monday at 8 p.m. when the Tropical Rose Society meets at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Greene, 7501 SW 53rd Ct. Members are requested to bring roses. ★ ★ ★ ELEANOR BERGER, mezzo soprano will be the soloist and Kathryn Keele Hyde will be the pianist at the 4 p.m. tea and program Sunday at the Musicians Club of America, 303 Minorca Ave. ★ ★ ★ Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority alumnae association will sponsor a book review dessert at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Panhellenic House, UM campus. Proceeds will go to the sorority project, book scholarships at the University. Mrs. I. M. Weinstein will give the review. ★ ★ ★ Midshipman First Class Marshall Magruder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peyton M. Magruder, 737 Malaga Ave., has been named a company petty officer in the 3,800-man brigade of midshipmen assigned to the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Midshipman Magruder will hold office from March 22 through June 6. ★ ★ ★ Donald J. Kelley, radioman second class USN, whose wife, Maria resides at 6701 Tarrega St., is attending an eight-week course of instruction in teletypewriter maintenance at the naval schools, Norfolk, Va. ★ ★ ★ Degrees granted at Emory University, Atlanta, during the winter quarter include Doris Baker Morgan, 1110 Coral Way, who received bachelor of arts. ★ ★ ★ For her outstanding volunteer service and support of the up-building of Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, Mrs. Andrew Novak, 7340 Mindello Ave., was presented a plaque by E. Albert Pallot, chairman of the hospital's development fund, in a special citation ceremony.
She'll Join USIA Staff; In Europe?
Linda Bugglen of 1515 Sarria Ave. will join the U.S. Information Agency's staff this summer. She reports to Washington in July for a two months' training session and then assignment. "I hope it will be Brussels." The Gables girl, daughter of Robert F. Bugglen, an advertising executive, and the late Mrs. Mary Bugglen, graduated from Gables High in 1955 and from Duke University, Durham, N.C., in 1959. Her degree at Duke was in business administration and foreign languages. Since a 1960 trip there with her mother, Europe has been her goal for working. Now, after "filling out reams of forms, being investigated by the FBI, fingerprinted, psychologically tested, found physically fit and all, I've been pronounced 'welcome.' "
