Club Site For Women Is Eyed

The Coral Gables Garden Club will be asked if it wants a public hearing on its proposal to convert the City-owned triangular piece of land near the University of Miami for a club site. The land, bounded by San Amaro Drive, San Amaro Court and Campo Sano, would be deeded to the Garden Club with a reverter clause if the City approves. A building is planned on the site.

Design For New Library

Preliminary designs for the new public library are under way following a conference meeting between architect Ed Rempe, Librarian Margaret Beaton and the City Commission Tuesday night. The group went over the report of Library Building Consultants Inc. on the proposed two-story building, estimated to cost $400,000.
