Sarah Snare to Marry Internal Revenue Man

Mr. and Mrs. Wilford A. Snare, former Gables residents for 15 years, 10901 SW 60th Ave., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Frances, to Richard O. Dowling, son of Mrs. Mercedes O. Bowling and the late Frank A. Dowling of Pittsburgh. The bride-elect, a teacher at Riviera Junior High School, is a graduate of Florida State University, a member of Chi Omega Sorority, the Spinsters' Club of Miami and the Coral Gables Country Club. Her fiance is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business honorary. He is employed with the Internal Revenue Service. The wedding will be Dec. 22.

Mrs. E. E. (Mary) Spaulding is back home at 7440 SW 74th Ct. after a freak accident which cost her a stay in South Miami Hospital and nearly 200 stitches in her left thigh. She fell on a cut glass bowl on the floor, seriously injuring herself. What made matters worse was that husband Gene was already in a cast from a broken arch.

Biltmore Golf

Mrs. Joy MacMurray placed first with 341⁄2 in Class A Thursday of last week in the Biltmore Women's S and T Golf Tournament. Second was Mrs. Thelma Brundage with 37. In Class B, Mrs. Ann Funderberg was first with 351⁄2. Mrs. Madeline Richer and Mrs. Gladys Tarr tied for second with 37. Mrs. Vera Jasper with 36 was first in Class C, and Mrs. Hertha Smith, second with 38.

Nancy Tkach, 524 Alcazar Ave., was elected president of the Miami Dental Hygienist Association Tuesday night. Her mother is the court clerk for the city of Coral Gables.
