Chippy's New Restaurant Will Open Tuesday
Chippy's restaurant and pantry opens next Tuesday. Located at 101 Miracle Mile, Chippy's features everything "from a steak to a bagel" according to owner Chip Diamond. Besides offering dining and fountain service, Chippy's has a pantry stocked with baked goods. All baking is done on the premises. "We feel that Mile business is still good," says Diamond, "and that Dadeland has had no ill effects on it." "Our restaurant will bring people to Miracle Mile and this will help other business here also." Diamond claims that Chippy's has the largest kitchen in the Southwest area. It includes five food coolers and a separate area for the pantry, which has a cooler also. Another feature of the kitchen is that it has a cooler in which to store garbage in order to prevent odors. In the dining area the walls are paneled in walnut veneer. The tile on the walls and floor is venetian glass mosaics and fulget marble facade. Muzak stereophonic music has been provided throughout the dining area. The dining room also has indirect lighting. Chippy's hours are 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday through Friday, and 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. Saturdays.

Allegro Music House Serves Combos And Concerts Alike
Of music, that is. And those of you who play an instrument in an orchestra, sing in a choir, have a child in the school band, or direct a glee club might make a mental note of the location of Coral Gables' newest music store - 292 Aragon Avenue. Or just drop in to get acquainted with Alan Reskin and his Allegro Music House. Since each has something of particular value to offer South Florida musicians, whether professional or amateur, in combination they provide a unique service. "I have always liked to deal with people who are interested in music," says Mr. Reskin. And his customers benefit from his wealth of experience with music and with musicians, both in his professional life and in his private life which is musically oriented to an unusual degree. Mr. Reskin was a founding member of the Miami Beach Civic Orchestra, one of the four South Florida symphonic groups in which he plays the violin. He is a member of the University of Miami Symphony, and somehow manages to rehearse and play with the Ft. Lauderdale Symphony and the Tampa Philharmonic as well. His wife is the celebrated concert violinist, Joan Field, whose artistry is of international fame, and who is particularly well known to greater Miami concert goers. She has been soloist with many major symphony orchestras, both here and in Europe, has been heard on radio and TV, and is a Decca recording artist. Perhaps under these circumstances, it is not surprising that their 15-year-old son has already won some honors in music, including that of having performed at the White House with President Kennedy in the audience - as tympanist for the Transylvania Symphony. Charles also plays piano, trumpet, French horn, and clarinet, but his main bent appears to be for composing and conducting. At the All-Miami Youth Concert this December, he is slated to conduct his own symphonic composition. How about David, age eight? "We don't push him," says his father, "but he is already showing the signs." In addition to this all round musical background, Alan Reskin is bringing to his customers a concern for the "forgotten man" in the musical world - the individual who needs a piece of sheet music for himself or perhaps several parts for a group. This person naturally HOPES he will not have to wait any-where from three weeks to three months to get it. At the Allegro Music House, he KNOWS he will not have to! "A 30 cent piece of music is just as important to THAT customer as a $200 clarinet may be to another," says Mr. Reskin. The Allegro Music House has an extremely wide selection of popular sheet music, song folios and albums for piano and organ. He is constantly adding to his sheet music racks to provide a library that will be both extensive and comprehensive. He will put special emphasis on classical selections for all instruments, and in addition, plans to devote time and effort toward providing choral music in octavo form so that choral directors of both church groups and secular organizations will find a variety of selections right on the shelves from which to choose. Individuals in both voice and orchestral groups will be able to pick up their particular parts from his stocks. Of course, the Allegro Music House also has brass and woodwind instruments for the student and the professionals, as well as guitars, ukeleles and banjoes of all kinds, and an expert repair service. But Alan Reskin's knowledgeable personal attention to your needs in music is the extra that makes buying and browsing at Allegro Music House at 292 Aragon Avenue particularly worthwhile.
