Venetian Club Names New Officers

STERN KOONS Venetian Club Names New Officers Mrs. Marion McCaskill is the new president of the Venetian Aquatic Club. The club is composed of Gables and Southwest women who donate their time to teach swimming. She succeeds Mrs. Donna Perry. Other officers chosen are Mrs. Esther Wiseman, vice president, 6351 SW 17th St.; Mrs. Gail Koons, secretary, 9700 SW 115th Ter.; and Mrs. Dottie Stern, treasurer, 7880 SW 17th Ter.

Biltmore Golf Winners

Winners in the 54-hole medal play, best-ball twosome at the Biltmore Women's Golf Association September Carroll's tournament were Mrs. Olive Jarrendt and Mrs. Mildred Finnerty, with 210; Second, with 211, were Mrs. Mary Brown and Mrs. Ailsa Miller. In third place with 213 were Mrs. Edna Kasper and Mrs. Mary McCrackin. Low net daily prizes for the lowest net score for each of the three days went to Mrs. Dot Allodi, and Mrs. Ruth Royall, 67; Mrs. Cymbeliene Sherriff and Mrs. Jody Hale, 68; Mrs. Lydia Silverthorne and Miss Louise Husband, 71.

Four Area Students Get School Aid

V. PRESIDENT WISEMAN Four Area Students Get School Aid One Coral Gables and three Southwest area students have been awarded honor scholarships to the University of Miami. The Gableite is Fred C. Scheer, 1020 Mariposa Ave., a Gables High graduate. Others are William C. Brown, 16601 SW 92nd Ave., from Palmetto High School, Georgia S. Rutten, 3789 SW 29th St., Coral Gables High; and Alan R. Peck, 4508 SW 14th St., also a graduate of Gables High. The four scholarships were among 32 given out to graduates of 12 Dade County High Schools. Scholarships provide complete tuition for one year and are renewable for qualified students.
