Hamiltons To Live In The Northwest

MRS. GEORGE DAVID HAMILTON On a wedding trip with destination Tacoma, Wash., where they will reside, are Mr. and Mrs. George David Hamilton whose wedding took place Saturday, Feb. 25, at Le Jeune Presbyterian Church. The bride is the former Doris Ellen Swain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Swain, 4350 SW 4th St. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hamilton, 13401 SW 100th Ct. Bride's Gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a handsome delustered white satin floor length gown designd with fitted bodice and bell skirt. Beaded yoke in points trimmed the neckline of the bodice and long point-at-hand sleeves. Roses of the satin trimmed the back of the skirt which swept to a chapel train, the skirt finished in rounded scallops. The gown was designed and made by the bride and her mother. Her voluminous veil fell from a crown of pearls, and she carried white roses centered with orchids. Beth Linda Swain, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miriam Bedsole of Panama City, roommate of the bride at Florida State University, and Sally Elizabeth Hamilton, sister of the groom. The honor maid was in purple satin with shoes and glov to match and a matching velvet headpiece. The bridesmaids wore lavendar satin dresses with matching accessories. Their flowers were heart shaped satin pieces centered with orchids matching their ensembles. Best Man The father of the groom was best man. Ushers were William Thomas Hartford and Dwight Mark Douglas. Dr. Noah Warren, pastor, officiated at the 4:30 p.m. candlelight service. The couples pledged their vows in double ring ceremonies. The reception followed in the church parlors. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Swain wore a rose silk linen designed in sheath style with matching shoes and flowered hat. Mother of the groom was in peacock blue sheath style gown with matching shoes and hat. Both matrons wore orchids. Young Friends The bride and groom have been friends since their fourth grade in school. Mr. Swain, vice president of the Florida National Bank of Coral Gables and Mrs. Swain are charter members of LeJeune Presbyterian Church. The bride was graduated from Miami Senior High School and attended Florida State University. The bridegroom, a graduate of Miami High School, attended Florida State University. He was recently graduated from the United States Air Force Weather School in Tacoma, where he will be stationed. Among out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips and Mrs. Chydie Allen, all of Charleston, W. Va.

At Joe And Emily Lowe Gallery Italian Prints Will Be Put On Display

A distinguished personal collection of prints by the Italian artist, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, is the major attraction of a new show to be previewed Sunday, Mar. 5, by members of the University of Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery. Approximately 50 of the prints collected by John Skinner, prominent local architect, will be displayed for the first time in the exhibition open to the public Tuesday, Mar. 7 through Mar. 26. Century Artists The most widely known of the 18th century artists specializing in etchings of Roman monuments, Piranesi is famed for the precision of architectural and engineering details depicted in his work. Skinner began collecting the prints when he went to Rome with a two-year fellowship after graduating from Harvard. He has acquired a collection probably unsurpassed by that of any individual in the U. S. Local Exhibitors A selection of paintings by local artists Tony Scornavacca and Elaine Weinstein, award winners in the 1960 Lowe Gallery Members' Exhibition, will be displayed through Mar. 19. Scornavacca operates an art gallery in South Miami and both have exhibited widely. Twelve paintings by James and Nevis Billmyer, distinguished New York artists, will be exhibited through Mar. 26. Mr. Billmyer will conduct a series of 12 workshops at the Gallery beginning Monday, Mar. 6. Open to the public without charge, Gallery hours are: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m.; closed Monday.

Friday Was Guest Day For Golfers

Friday was guest day at the Country Club of Coral Gables Women's Golf Association and the tournament was low gross. Guest winning was Mrs. W. Frailey, who scored 43. A tie for second place went to Mrs. David Ulrich, Mrs. W. E. Boyle and Mrs. Ann Boll who scored 45, also guests. Members in Class A who came in winners were Mrs. John Beaumont who had a 42; Mrs. William Vanderbilt, second with 45 and Mrs. Robert Hanna, third with 47. In Class B, a tie in first place resulted for Mrs. R. L. Rice and Mrs. William McKone who scored a 47. In second place was Mrs. Milton Duhaime with 49 and a tie for third with Mrs. F. R. Young and Mrs. Sam Anderson each posting a 50. Mrs. Paul Sage won first in Class C with a 49; Mrs. Dave Bosworth and Mrs. Rollo Budde tied with a 50, and Mrs. Harold Bennett was third with a 52.

Flamingo Day Guests

Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Quick, the Mall, Coral Gables, invited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. Hervey Yancey, also of the Gables, to luncheon and the races Saturday at Hialeah. It was also Flamingo Day, when the beautiful pink birds put on a race.
