Improve education quality
reader response Editor: The National Education Association condemns Florida because it is one of the states which spends the lowest amount per pupil on public education. Florida taxpayers are expected to feel ashamed of this fact, but we are proud that we do not pay the highest price for such poor results. However, there are too many intelligent people in Florida to believe the simplistic NEA theory that the more money spent per pupil the better the education will be. New York State is one of the states which spends the greatest amount per pupil on public education, yet New York City produces almost the worst results in the entire nation. Even the poor Dade County results are far superior to New York City. The quality of education has gone down as the cost has gone up. The NEA should solve this problem rather than always ask for more and more money for poorer and poorer results. WILLIAM R. ANGLE 15600 SW 77th Ct.

"All I know is that my 'son is going to be a hunter. His father and uncles are already talking about taking him to the Everglades on hunting trips as soon as he walks," she joked. A former employe at Kelley Tractor Company, Mrs. Peterson, 26, is assistant leader of Brownie Troop No. 409 in West Dade.
