Popovers are easy to make

Remember the rolls and bread grandmother used to bake? Now you can make them too. There's nothing "old fashioned" about the old-fashioned flavor of steamy hot popovers straight from the oven. They're quick and simple to make and have that melt-in-the-mouth taste reminiscent of Grandma's home baked breads. Popovers | 1⁄2 cup milk | 1 tablespoon melted margarine | 1 egg | 1⁄2 cup flour | 1⁄4 teaspoon salt mixture, or regular table salt | In mixing bowl, combine ingredients in order listed above. Beat with rotary beater just until smooth. Fill well greased 5-oz. custard cups half full of batter. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake about 15 minutes longer. Remove from custard cups at once and make small slit in side of each popover to allow steam to escape. Serve hot. Makes 6. Note: Muffin pan or popover pan can be substituted for custard cups. Yield varies with size of pan.
