Fox's is an inviting spot for dinner
Fox's Sherron Inn, 6030 S. Dixie Hwy., 661-9201. Hours: Monday to Saturday, bar 10 a.m., restaurant, 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday, 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. (kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m.) American Express and Diners' Club accepted. Ample parking across the alley in back of the restaurant. From frogs legs in garlic butter to shish-ka-bob with rice, Fox's Sherron Inn offers a comfortable cross-section of dinner selections. Although Fox's serves breakfast at any hour and although the restaurant is a known favorite with lunching businessmen, it is also an inviting place dining out for dinner with its cozy curved booths and long bar. A second dining room sports a timely Bicentennial theme, with a tapestry hanging showing the liberty bell, a gold eagle, several pewter plates, American flags and red and blue shag carpeting. Mixed drinks and wine are offered before dinner, along with appetizers like shrimp cocktail and a soup du jour (clam chowder on Fridays). Dinners, which come with soup, salad and potato plus a vegetable on request, are priced from $3.25 for fried chicken to $6.25 for the Big Fox N.Y. Strip Steak with onion rings. Other dinner offerings are filet mignon, liver with grilled onions and bacon, fried clams, a combination seafood platter, pork chops with applesauce, fried oysters, fan tail shrimp, broiled snapper and scallops (most under $4). Side orders of brocolli, asparagus, corn on the cob and onion rings range from 35 to 95 cents and four beef selections are listed for $3.25 each (thumb bits, hot roast beef sandwich, barbecue ribs and Roumanian steak). A hot turkey sandwich is also $3.25 and sliced steak is $1.95 as is the special of the day, which varies.

Dial 'M' for Murder
Dial "M" for Murder, the shivery mystery written by Frederick Knott and directed, in the movies, by Alfred Hitchcock, will be presented by the Actors Community Theater Wednesday, July 7 to Saturday, July 10. The performances, at the Reviera Presbyterian Church, 5275 Sunset Dr., Coral Gables, will begin at 8 p.m. every night except Wednesday, when the 7:30 p.m. curtain will be preceeded by a 6:30 p.m. chicken dinner at the church grounds. Reservations can be made by calling 666-8586 and tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students.
