all about people ... Gables Sealtest executive now on crime commission
Coral Gables resident Joe NeSmith, 548 San Esteban, will be doing a lot more than sampling products at Sealtest, where he's an executive. Now, he'll be sampling police reports. NeSmith has just been elected as a director of the Crime Commission of Greater Miami. On stage Bobby Kosstrin of Coral Gables is playing the role of Henrietta in the current Act V production of "Little Mary Sunshine," nightly at the Marco Polo theater through Aug. 1. Student notes Notable students this week include Scott I. Bearman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius E. Bearman of Coral Gables, who just graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University of Boston. Scott will attend Tufts medical school in September. Karen Lynne Sattinger of 130 Antiquera in the Gables is another student of note. She's just been granted a Master of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Indiana University. Seems like students Ms. Kosstrin going to school in Colorado might not want to graduate and leave all those mountains, but four local pupils have graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and are on their way home — trading the Southern rockies for South Dade. They are: Lidia M. Martin of 3906 LeJeune; Grace M. Pujol, 415 Majorca; Martha Y. Benach, 8920 SW 56th St. and Phillip H. Miller, 9932 SW 196th St. Guildford College in Greensboro, N.C. isn't ready to annonce Susan N. Stemples' graduation yet — she's a rising senior. But, the college has announced that Susan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Stemples, 100 Leucandendra Dr. has made the spring semsester Dean's List. Military mention Three cadets from South Dade and Coral Gables have received promotions within the South Carolina Corps of Cadets at the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. Richard Edward Talley, a senior and English major, has been named a second lieutenant. He is the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. E. Talley, 11760 SW 72nd Ave. An Army ROTC member, he will serve as assistant operations officer. Clarence Harve H. Jeck, also a senior, is a business administration major who will have a second lieutenant's rank. He is the son of Lt. Col and Mrs. L. P. Jeck, of 12150 SW 89th Ave., and will serve as platoon leader for his Navy ROTC company. Albert R. Buscaino, also a Navy ROTC member and a rising junior majoring in physical education, has been named a cadet sergeant. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs, V.L. Buscaino of 6507 Granada Blvd., in Coral Gables.

Mrs. Jeanette Belcher, 7600 SW 21st St., wing historian at Homestead AFB, has received the Air Force's Meritorious Service Medal, the highest award presented to civilian employes.
