Former RCAF pilot heads Sambo's Coral Gables outlet
Gerry Fong-Jean is now in charge of the Sambo's Restaurant at One Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. A graduate of Sambo's manager training school, Fong-Jean managed the Medford, Oregon Sambo's prior to his new assignment in Coral Gables. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before joining the nationwide chain of family restaurants.

Top of the line William R. Rowe, 10201 SW 82nd Ct., qualified as a member of the 1976 Presidents' Council of New York Life Insurance C. Members of the Presidents' Council are among the top 600 New York Life agents within the company's filed force of 10,000 throughout the United States and Canada. Membership is based on the agent's 1976-76 sales performance. Promotion Lee Erwin, a Kendall resident, has been promoted to general manager at Braman Motors, Miami Rolls Royce, Cadillac and BMW dealership. Erwin, who is also a vice president of the firm, is a former Marine Corps pilot. He has been in Cadillac sales since 1963 and was the company's leading salesman in Dade County for the past five years. Bank notes At its meeting held Aug. 20, the Board of Directors of Florida National Bank of Coral Gables elected Mrs. Martha Flythe to the position of Auditor, and Carol Brewis to the position of Assistant Cashier. The announcement was made by bank president William C. Swain. James D. Irwin, executive vice president of the Flagship First National Bank of Coral Gables, has announced the appointment of Maria Del Carmen Pla as an international banking officer. She is a graduate of Miami Senior High and attended Miami Dade Community College. She is a member of the American Institute of Banking and is attending FIU as a special student. Store opens Bill Oister, president of the South Miami Pool Co., has announced the opening of a new branch in the Kendall Mall. The store, Pool-N-Patio, at 8875 SW 107th Ave., will offer outdoor furniture and swimming pool service. It is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
