Heirlooms, antiques decorate Jill's two rooms

Jack, Jean and Jill Branlund relax on a couch in Jill's "pad". It can double as a bed when company comes, but sets a comfortable mood for listening to music. From Page 18 daughter an old-fashioned partition covered with a collage, which serves as a backdrop to a matching set of chairs. In the light, wood bird cage which hangs from the ceiling is a colorful, stuffed, feathered animal. On all the window sills and throughout the room are a wide vareiety of plants - from tiny potted ones to the overflowing hanging variety. An adjacent bathroom is also the setting for more of Jill's greenery. To complement the vegetation, there are huge posters of wild animals, adding a certain primitive atmosphere to the room. Her father bought Jill the old brass bed that dominates her bedroom, and it is decorated with blue and purple quilts her grandmother made. The sewing maching Jill uses to make most of her clothes is also a mainstay in her bedroom. Her apartment overlooks the patio and pool area of the home. She can step right out of her room into a semi-private patio area adjacent to the pool. "My dad built the redwood overhand for me so I could keep my plants out here," Jill said. "It has worked out fine because my friends can come over and we can just come out here through my room." Another popular area of the Branlund's home is the billiard room. "Everybody plays pool. It's the game of the house," said Mrs. Branlund. "The table was a gift for our 25th wedding anniversary and we just have a great time using it." Jill apparently inherited her artistic talents from her mother, whose paintings and collages decorate the home. Alongside photographs of Mrs. Branlund's great grandparents is a painting she drew of her daughter. On the opposite wall is a 1918 sketching of her mother. The dark wood furniture in the dining room is complemented by colorful fruit paintings - also done by Mrs. Branlund. The large, delicately carved table sits alone in the center of the dining room, which is at a higher level than the rest of the home. The matching chairs, with tall backrests and black leather seats, are set against the wall of the room. The white carpet in the spacious living room and the light green and white furniture that decorates it, add a definite and pleasant contrast to the heavy, rustic furniture in the dining area.
