Have your say about transit routes

Citizens are once again being asked to get involved in decisions affecting the final design of a proposed rapid transit system through a public involvement program being organized throughout the county. At a series of community meetings next week, Dade County transportation officials will be on hand to review progress on a transportation improvement program, outline plans for public involvement and organize the citizen participation structure. There will be two district organizational meetings in the south end of the county. On Thursday, Sept. 9, the Coral Gables-Southwest District V will meet at Coral Gables Senior High School, 450 Bird Road. District VI, or the South Dade group, will meet at Palmetto Junior High School, 7351 SW 128th St. Both meetings will begin at 8 p.m.

LIEBERMAN The Man Who Told The Miami Herald He Didn't Want Its Endorsement!

Ron Lieberman knows that the only hope for meaningful representation in the Florida Legislature is to allow Dade County's neighborhoods and cities to have their own single member legislative districts with one legislator dedicated to their interests. The Miami Herald is bitterly opposed to single member districts. On the other hand, The Miami Herald has long attempted to have individual cities such as Miami, Coral Gables, South Miami and Miami Beach abolished and taken over by Metro. Ron Lieberman is opposed to any such move. That's why, when The Herald invited him to be interviewed for possible endorsement, Ron Lieberman wrote and told The Herald he did not want their endorsement. he's his own man . . . and your man!
