CG, SD postal offices will close Labor Day
All Coral Gables and South Dade post offices will be closed for the Labor Day holiday, Sept. 6. There will be no city, rural or business area mail deliveries, and special delivery will operate on a Sunday schedule. E.H. Daws, postmaster of Miami, said collections from street mail deposit boxes on Labor Day will be the same as regular Sunday pickup schedules. Basic mailing services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at two self service locations in the Southwest and South Dade areas: Westchester Shopping Center, 8677 Coral Way and Kendall Mall SW 107th Avenue and Kendall Drive. There is also a self service postal center in the lobby of the South Miami Post Office at 5927 SW 70th St., which is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
THERE'S NEVER THE LEAST DOUBT WHERE METRO COMMISSIONER HARRY CAIN STANDS ON AN ISSUE
Since being appointed to the Dade County Commission four years ago, I have become its senior member, both in age and in service. I have been exceedingly active, very visible, and available to any individual who thought there was need to be in touch with me. I have worked hard to serve the public fully and properly. I am content with having served you with faithfulness and some competence. If my credentials are not adequate in seeking your vote and support, I am sorry, but there is nothing more I would or have to offer. Should you retain me in office, I will endeavor to justify your approval of my conduct. Of one thing I am sure—you will never have cause to question where I stand on an issue affecting your welfare—or why I have taken that stand. Harry P. Cain Please consider re-electing Metro Commissioner Harry P. Cain METRO COMMISSION DISTRICT TWO COUNTY-WIDE ELECTION
