Fleet Members Return, To Elect New Officers

Without facilities to float their flotilla at fleet headquarters in the Coral Gables Country Club, 8 members of "The Fleet," under Commodore Harrison Faith, rendezvoused recently in Biscayne Bay. Purpose was a boat cavalcade to Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale. The power boats, ranging from 18 to 40 feet in length and flying the fleet's Burgee — a triangular pennant showing an orange shield with a bar on a Kelly green background — cruised up the Inland Waterway for the overnight maneuver. Plans for future movements include trips to Ocean Reef, Key Largo, Flamingo, Cat Cay or Bimini. Next summer a 20-hour Senior Lifesaving Course will be sponsored for country club members. The members also plan redecoration of the club's Key Room for The Fleet's 113 members and their families. New officers for the two-year old organization will be elected Monday at a 7 p.m. cocktail party in headquarters. Those in the Ft. Lauderdale caravan included Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Archer, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Ingle, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Fabio, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Firestone, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hankins. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Peene, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Daughtry, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Beers, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Hiser, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Fabing, and Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Furlong.
