The Jaspers Lead Field On Links

Annual "Ball and Chain" tournament made up of husbands and wives of the Coral Gables Women's and Men's golf association was held recently over the Granada course. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jasper with a net 28 1/2 for the 9-hole, partner's best ball play were first. Tying for second with a 30 were Mr. and Mrs. Howard McClain, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker; and coming in third were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Neary with 31. There were 20 teams out for the play and cocktails followed the game.

J. R. Beverley's 69 Wins In Directors' Tournament

JOHN BEVERLEY (center) won the International Petroleum Co. golf tourney with a 69. To the left of him is M. M. Brisco and to the right is Bernie Shearon, last year's winner. J. R. Beverley took the annual Directors' Tournament of Iternational Petroleum Co. held recently at Rolling Hills Golf Club in Broward County. Beverley's score was 69. Second was G. E. Wagoner and Third R. D. MacDougall in the tourney, held Sept. 28. Here were the team winners: Winning team, D. W. Ulrich, G. E. Wagoner, C. L. Turkington and W. W. Stewart. Second team, M. M. Brisco, R. D. MacDougall, R. S. Jarvis and A. H. Nimmo. Third team, J. F. Moore, H. F. Stevenson, D. J. Neville and W. A. McKenna. J. S. Patterson also won a prize for low gross score and R. T. Young for high gross.
