Robert has been accepted by both Florida State and the new South Florida University at Tampa. He's leaning toward the latter, Mrs. Grant says. * * * The household of the Dr. Kermit H. Gates is buzzing these days. First, there's the thrill of a move, from 820 Alhambra Cir., to 644 Altara Ave., the home they bought from Henry Simmonite. Dr. Gates is Administrator at Jackson Memorial. Then there's the parade of homecoming for children. Coming in June will be Capt. and Mrs. Kermit H. Gates Jr. and their three children, Elizabeth (who'll be 4 on July 4); Kermit III, 2; and Richard, 1. Captain Gates has just completed his master's degree work at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. Maganns and their two children are ready to move to Jacksonville. They sold their home at 1515 Mantua Ave. a couple months ago and moved into a furnished home for the interval. However due to a mixup, they suddenly had to find new quarters and recently, Lucille reports, "we've been living out of corrugated boxes at 5772 SW 48th St." The Maganns have spent virtually all their married life here. They were married in May, 1936, in Green Cove Springs. After 26 years with Westinghouse, Ed Magann resigned to start his own business as a manufacturer's representative. The move to Jacksonville is to cut down some of his traveling. Mrs. Magann is delighted that she'll be near her sister who lives at Live Oak, about 70 miles away. The Maganns have been active in local affairs, particularly at Granada Presbyterian Church.
