Miss Donna Carolyn Heath Is Now Mrs. A. U. Serene
Carrying a bridal bouquet of two dozen white roses with green ivy and wearing a sheath gown of white lace with full side panels of organza, the former Miss Donna Carolyn Heath became the bride of Anthony U. Serene at a noon ceremony May 12, in the Church of the Epiphany, South Miami. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Heath of 1126 Manati Ave. The groom is the son of Mrs. Margaret N. Serene of Somerville, Mass. She was here for the wedding, also the groom's sisters, Mrs. Cosmos Patalano and Mrs. Ronald Linnon, both of Somerville. Fr. O'Dowd officiated at the double-ring ceremony and the bride was given in marriage by her father. Diana Lee Heath was maid of honor for her sister and she wore a satin sheath of rosebeige with matching short jacket and carried an arrangement of yellow and bronze flowers in a crescent. Pete Sloan was best man and David Rodgers ushered. The couple will take a trip through the state for their honeymoon, and will reside in Coral Gables. The bride is a graduate of Coral Gables High School. The groom is a graduate of Boston University. MRS. ANTHONY SERENE
Tennis Test
Six Coral Gables youths from Salvadore Park will go up against the best tennis players in Florida June 9-11 in St. Petersburg at the state tennis championship. Coached by Jack Cook, tennis pro at Salvadore Park, the youths are, his daughter, Barbara, Bill Colson, Diane Gibson, Nancy Mandel, Bill Monan and Ann Roberts.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Shultz of 1250 La Mancha Ave., are planning a trip to Urbana, Ohio. It will be their first visit in five years to their home-town and they are excited about seeing the friends and relatives they haven't seen for such a long time. Mrs. Harry Barton, 6008 Leonardo St., is leaving the third of June for South America where she plans to visit her daughter and grandchildren in Bogota, Columbia. Mrs. Barton's daughter's name is Mrs. Bernardo Mendez. Mr. and Mrs. James Bland and Mrs. Bland's step-mother, Mrs. O. D. Koen from Statesboro, Ga., have been visiting Mrs. and Mrs. Herbert O. Root of 6411 Leonardo St. They will return to Statesboro today (Thursday) where Mr. Bland is city manager. Mrs. Leslie T. Erwin of 816 Paradiso, who is the former Peggy Neighbors, just returned from Houston, Tex., where she was a judge for the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Mrs. M. W. Shaughnessy, 1406 Lisbon St., just returned from a six-month vacation in Hawaii where she visited her son Lt. Col. John J. Shaughnessy. Bob Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Mitchell, 841 Lorca St., a sophomore at Stetson University in DeLand, plans to be home this weekend. Then he is going to Denver, to work for the summer as an accountant. H. C. Sumrall Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Sumrall, of 1560 Malaga Ave., is one of 54 outstanding members of the current sophomore class of Army ROTC basic course cadets at the University of Mississippi, Oxford. He was selected to continue in the advanced course. He is an English major at Ole Miss.

Robert L. Semes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. Semes, 3685 Riviera Ct., has been granted admission to the University of Virginia for graduate study in history, beginning in September. A 1958 graduate of Coral Gables High School, he is attending Belhaven College, Jackson, Miss., where he will receive his bachelor of arts degree, June 4. Looking for company in June are Mr. and Mrs. Leo S. Julian, 1009 Hardee Rd. They are expecting their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Julian from Upper Montclair, N.J., and daughters Linda and Carroll. Lt. Col. and Mrs. John P. Little and their four children, from Tampa, will spend a short vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Cleveland of 1436 Dorado Ave., before going overseas. Mrs. Little and Mrs. Cleveland are sisters.
