WHICH TRIPLET BRUSHES after every meal? Clearly, it's the one in the center, Mr. Dinosaur. Stanley Kinehen and Anita Keifenberg compare their chompers to the prehistoric animals. They and their classmates made at Cypress Elementary School. It's not a very fair comparison. At least, however, the children are impressed with the knowledge of such monsters. That was the goal of the sixth graders in Dan Harvey's class, to learn about the beasts that prowled the earth long before modern man. If you think his teeth are big, you should have seen his length, about 20 feet.
Gables Teacher Attends Duke Conference
Mrs. Harriet Prance, director of guidance at Coral Gables High School, was among some 45 delegates from 23 states who attended a conference for high school guidance counselors held at Duke University, Oct. 19-21. The first in a proposed series of annual conferences, the event was designed to create a better understanding of problems faced both by the University and by representatives of secondary schools. It attempted to acquaint the counselors with the curriculum of the University and the requirements necessary for entrance. The three day program included panel discussions on undergraduate education, social studies, natural sciences, counseling for college admission and financing a college education. A tea held Oct. 20 gave Mrs. Prance an opportunity to meet and talk with 25 students from Coral Gables who are attending Duke. Other entertainment included tours of the Duke campus and several informal social functions.
