Dames Club Outlines Plans

The newly reorganized Dames Club of the University of Miami has scheduled three November events of interest. On Saturday a pot luck supper with The Dames as hostesses and their husbands and students at the University of Miami as guests will be held at the Westminster Foundation. The Dames have also reserved a table at the Homecoming Dance to be held on Nov. 11 at Miami Beach Exhibition Hall, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. They will have a decorated car in the Homecoming Parade the following day.

GOP Women To Hear Doctor

Dr. Edward R. Annis will be the guest speaker next Thursday when the Riviera Republican Women's Club holds its regular meeting and luncheon at the Country Club of Coral Gables. Dr. Annis is known as a speaker in many fields, including medicine and politics. He served as the American Medical Association's representative at both the Republican and Democratic Conventions in the 1960 campaign.

Goodwill Auxiliary Elects Mrs. Johns

Mrs. Robert D. Johns, 1425 Tangier St., was elected third vice president of the Women's Auxiliary of Goodwill Industries and Mrs. Horace Cordes, 4315 San Amaro Dr., was elected treasurer at an oganizational meeting Oct. 31 at the Goodwill plant, 1130 NW 22nd St. Mrs. Johns, Mrs. Cordes and six other elected officers will be installed at the Dec. 5 meeting of the Auxiliary. Meeting place will be announced later, according to Mrs. Hyman Pertes, 445 SW 23rd Rd., newly elected president. Women interested in helping handicapped persons are urged to join the auxiliary by telephoning the Goodwill office, FR 1-5431, or sending a postcard to 1130 NW 22nd St. Mrs. Pertes pointed out that those who enroll now will be listed as charter members.

Club Will Fete Mrs. C. F. Brand

Mrs. S. G. Riggs Jr., 7320 SW 79th St., will open her home Wednesday evening for the South Miami Music Club's reception for its president, Mrs. Carlyle F. Brand. The Singing Strings trio, composed of Faye Foster, piano; Lucy Morro, violinist, and Mary Harp, cellist, will provide background music at 8 p.m. Dr. Bertha Foster, founder of the Musicians Club of America, will be master of ceremonies. The Loom, local light opera company, will present a program. Kergley Keeley, the club's scholarship student will play piano.
