Dressed for Opera
MRS. JAMES H. MENDEL JR., pictured with her husband, Dr. Mendel, designed and executed the dress she wears. It is made of deep purple chiffon. She wore it to the last of the grand opera's seasonal presentations.
'Some Happy Day' Will Open Tonight
An original three-act play with music, "Some Happy Day," opens tonight (Thursday) at the Gallery Playhouse, 211 Giralda, for 12 performances. Under the direction of Sid Casell, the show was written by Mel Pape with music and lyrics by Mrs. Joyce G. Reid. The production can be seen through April 29. Basically a love story, "Some Happy Day" tells of doctors and nurses working in a remote jungle community and explores the depths of their relations with each other and their devotion to their "project" and the native population around them. The male lead, that of Dr. Bob Farrell, is portrayed by James Rowe. Female leads are shared among Susan Bogusky, Jackie Goldman and Bonnie Maguire. Two eight-year-olds, Alice Weil and Hilary Rosenthal, will alternate in the part of a tiny orphan who is the mascot of the jungle hospital. Oth-

After six years in California, Florida beckoned home to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Millward. They are living in Coral Gables at 1048 Malaga Ave. Mrs. Millward is the former Jane Barrett of this city. Two of the Millward's three children are with them, Joanna-Lu, seven, and Geoffrey, six. Richard, 15, is with the J. W. Barretts of Lakewood, O. Millward is president of the Diversified Sales Corp., of Coral Gables.
