Arie Fulton Installed As Quota Club President
The Quota Club of Coral Gables has taken over the sponsorship and training of a two-year old deaf girl. She is receiving therapy at the Hearing and Speech Center of Florida, 1540 W. Flagler St. Arie Fulton is the 1962 president of Quota. She is serving a second term but not in succession. Betty Lunnon and Louis Nelson are vice presidents; Mary Louise Dunwoody, secretary, and Edith Gash, treasurer. Directors are Dorothy Bonner, Margaret Pichl, Marjorie England and Carol Ringer. McLemores on Honeymoon In Barbados; Home in CG
Off on a honeymoon trip to Barbados are Mr. and Mrs. Morris T. McLemore whose wedding took place Saturday. A family affair at 4:30 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church, Coconut Grove, the reception at 5:30 p.m. followed at the home of the bride. The bride is the former Miss Nancy Jane Miller, daughter of Mrs. Garfield L. Miller of 902 Algaringo Ave., and the late Mr. Miller. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville L. McLemore of Statesboro, Ga., who were here for the wedding. Given in marriage by her brother, Garfield Miller Jr., the bride wore a ballerina length gown of white tissue faille made with scoop neckline, bracelet length sleeves. Her bouffant veil fell from a headpiece of pearlized orange blossoms and she carried white orchids with yellow throats. Mrs. J. Flint Liddon Jr., of Yazoo City, Miss., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. The father of the groom was best man. Ushers were John U. Miller, brother of the bride and Alwyn Matthews of Washington, D.C. Guests were received at the reception in the garden of the Miller home. There were strolling musicians, flowing champagne and a three-tier bridal cake. The guests included the bride's sister, Helen (Mrs. William J.) Nolan who flew in from Seattle; Mrs. Marion Rosengren of Washington, D.C., and the Garfield Millers Jr., of Buffalo, N.Y. The groom's family also included besides his parents, his aunt, Miss Julia Carmichael of Statesboro and his sister, Miss Bettie McLemore of Atlanta. The bride attended the local schools in Coral Gables and was graduated from Duke University with a BA degree. The couple will reside in the Douglas Entrance Apartments 801 E. Ponce de Leon Blvd. The groom is a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He is a columnist for the Miami News. Mrs. Morris McLemore

The Coral Gables Civitan Club will hold a luncheon-swim party for its little league baseball team April 28. The affair will be held at the home of Clem Haggiund, 1136 Andora Ave., who, along with Dave Noble, coaches the team. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Clarke, 1100 Astoria Ave., are grandparents. Their little granddaughter, Janice Marie Clark, was born at Doctors' Hospital. ★ ★ ★ Charles Humphries, son of Mrs. Robert Freeman, 1253 Astoria Ave., was home for Easter. He's a student at the University of Florida. ★ ★ ★ James Schulte, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, will be visiting his parents, the Edmund Schultes, 1259 Astoria Ave., on May 21. The Schultes have another son, Thomas, who works for the law firm of Dean, Adams, Fischer and Gautier in Miami. ★ ★ ★ Jack Allyn, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Allyn (he's Coral Gables' finance director), 811 Algeria Ave., spent the Easter holidays with friends at Maryville College, in Maryville, Tenn. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. George Maurer, 830 Algeria Ave., will entertain about 15 ladies from St. James Lutheran Church, Circle Two, at her home today (Thursday). ★ ★ ★ Col. and Mrs. Lynn O. Whitaker are leaving next Monday to see the Kentucky Derby. The celebrated race will be held May 5. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Matt Borek, 426 Alminar Ave., is having a combination luncheon-bridge party today (Thursday) to celebrate the completion of her Florida room. ★ ★ ★ William Diehl is arriving from Springfield, Ohio to live with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Diehl, 834 Algeria Ave. ★ ★ ★ Miss Marilou Hahn, an art teacher at West Miami Junior High, flew to Jamaica for Easter. She's the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Walker Hahn of 1246 Algardi Ave.
