Pen Women Center Yule Party Around Ancient Art Muses

The muses of art, music, poetry and prose will reign supreme when the Coral Gables Branch, National League of American Pen Women meet at 10 o'clock next Tuesday morning for their Christmas party at the home of Mrs. John E. Norman, 4620 Santa Maria. Highlighting the program will be Writing the Short-Short. Mrs. W. H. Rhodes and Mrs. William Charlton have set up a skit to give all the members pointers on hew to compose the short story. Christmas music, composed by music workshop members — Mrs. Joseph Altman, Mrs. Fred Diestelhorst, Yrs. Leila W. Hall, Mrs. J. F. Matlack and Mrs. Sam Murray — will be presented by Myrna Shevin accompanied by Mrs. Matlack at the piano. Edith Thomas' paintings will be displayed throughout the Norman home by art chairman, Mrs. R. L. Reyman. Mrs. C. J. Mason will conduct a novelty Christmas game in which all the members can participate. Winners of the poetry and prose writings based upon a Christmas theme will be announced and their manuscripts read for the audience.

THE PENWOMEN of Coral Gables will blend the four arts in their Christmas show. Biltmore Golf

Scotch twosome pineburst was the play Thursday of last week by the Biltmore Women's Golf Association. Winnners were Mrs. S. Burke and Mrs. H. Jasper with 94 minus 24, net 70. Second place went to Mrs. R. Brown and Mrs. L. Peto with 90 minus 17, net 73. Tying for third were Mrs. A. Anderson and Mrs. K. Kessler with 81 minus six and one-half, net 74 and one-half; and Mrs. R. W. Brown and Mrs. R. Jarvis with 82 minus seven and ene-half, net 74 and one-half.

BELLS BACK HOME

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bell, 7840 SW 20th St., have returned from the Midwest where they spent the summer.

Soprano To Give Concert

Soprano Kay Hurdle Daffin, accompanied by her teacher Frances Tarboux, will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Musicians Club, 303 Minorca. Also on the program will be pianist, Tiber Yusti. Twenty-four-year-old Kay is a member of the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Guild of North Miami and will sing the leading roll of "Yum Yum" in their production of the "Mikado." Yusti has been giving concerts in Latin America and Europe and is scheduled to go on tour again early next year.

Dec. 28th Junior Orange Bowl Football game at 7 p.m. at Central Stadium. Dec. 29th Junior Orange Bowl Parade in Coral Gables at 2 p.m. If you would like to march in the parade, sign up in the office.
