school slate Seniors' first aid class set

A "Companion Aide to the Elderly" class will be taught by Milton Wieder of the American Red Cross at the South Miami Hospital Church building basement, located on the corner of SW 62nd Avenue and 74th Street. The 45-hour class will be held every Monday from Sept. 20 through Dec. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. The purpose of the course is to help people recognize symptoms, prevent the spread of infection, follow doctors' orders, take temperature, feed and make patients comfortable in the home. To enroll or for additional information, call the Southwest Branch of the American Red Cross, 665-3691. The only charge for the course in the cost of the textbook.

Colonial Drive Park, 10750 SW 156th Terr., is sponsoring an array of adult classes and after school activities for children. Yoga, golf, tennis, macrame, oil painting and ceramics are just a few of the adult classes scheduled to begin Sept. 13. The classes are $10 for eight weeks. The children's after school program starts Sept. 20, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. for students from first grade through 12th. Parents are urged to go by the park and register their children for the program which includes ceramics, tennis, archery, football, volleyball, tumbling, bowling, and other
