Anderson, Betchel, Manzer, Smith
WHAT'S MORE FITTING than for the welcome Wagon's top bowlers to slip into a pool with their bowling balls during a swim party? From right to left, we have top bowling team members Mrs. Roy Manzer, Mrs. T. R. Anderson, Mrs. R. W. Betchtel, and high scorer Mrs. Alma Wagner. (Times photo).
From the Wagon, These Bowlers
No sir, nothing beats giving yourself a party. That's what the Coral Gables Welcome Wagon members did Monday. Every week they go on down to the University Bowl to compete against one another. From within their ranks, they have come up with their top bowler and the number one bowling team. Credited with the highest single game so far (181) is Mrs. Alma Wagner, 4425 SW 13th St. She also holds the high for a three-game series (470). The four-member team who beat out their own club associates are Mrs. T. R. Anderson, 1410 Robbia Ave.; Mrs. Roy Manzer, 840 S. Alhambra Cir.; and Mrs. John E. Smith, 1428 Trillo Ave. Other Welcome Wagon members on the bowling team are Mrs. George Levine, at whose home on 1128 Hardee Rd. the women held their swim party and buffet; Mrs. Nell Bahr, 925 Alfonso Ave. Mrs. A. H. Donaldson, 4162 SW 11th St.; Mrs. Paul Gainer, 3600 Durango Ave.; Mrs. C. Hagglund, 1136 Andora Ave. Mrs. Milton L. Hopps, 40 Salamanca Ave.; Mrs. Irving Jahnig, 429 Fluvia Ave.; Mrs. G. S. Patrick, 710 Catalonia Ave. Mrs. R. Senterfeit, 34 Samana Dr.; Mrs. John E. Smith, 1428 Trillo Ave.; Mrs. L. Steele, 1012 Columbus Blvd.; and Mrs. J. A. Stegenga, 830 Catalonia Ave.

They're All Fenced In, Or Were
A row over a neighborhood seven-foot spite fence wound up in the City Commission Tuesday after the courts and Zoning Board couldn't settle it. The Commission listened to both sides and made its decision—the fence must come down. In doing so, the Commission overrode its Zoning Board, which had split 3-2 in recommending that Jose M. Muxo Jr. be allowed the chain link fence at 913 El Rado. Muxo told the commission he put up the fence to keep Dr. M. Kraus from cutting his hedge. Dr. Kraus denied cutting the hedge on the other side of the property line. Besides she said, the fence was erected without a permit. The case wound up in court once, but neither party could remember which court. "I personally don't need a fence," said Muxo, who doesn't live near the Kraus,' but his tenants say they do. Muxo admitted he took down the fence, after he bought the property, put it back up—this time with the barbs and without a permit.
