South Dade An office at 6950 N. Kendall Dr. was broken into Sunday or Monday Aug. 22 or 23, and $50 in cash and miscellaneous food was taken. Police said that Maryl Bannatyne, 33, who lives at 11030 SW 60th Ct., discovered the theft when she reported to work and saw that the storeroom window had been broken. ★ ★ ★ The home of James Mander, 36, at 8265 SW 106th St., was robbed Monday, Aug. 23, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Officers said the thief took a phone answering machine. ★ ★ ★ Frank Boyle, 48, complained to police that his home at 17755 SW 78th Ave., was broken into Saturday or Sunday, Aug. 14 or 15. Police said the thief, who apparently broke the glass on a sliding glass door, took a watch, a white ring with white stones in it, a Panasonic TV and a 16-piece set of sterling silver. ★ ★ ★ Alfred Delancey, 25, of 10225 SW 172nd St., was arrested at his home Saturday, Aug. 21, and charged with the attempted robbery of the Texaco Service Station, 9380 S. Dixie Hwy., on Aug. 13, according to police. ★ ★ ★ Doris McGuire, 48, and her 14-year-old daughter, Andrea, were robbed in their home at 8821 SW 88th St., Friday, Aug. 20, at 1:10 p.m. Police said when the McGuires returned home after an outing, they found two juvenile boys ransacking the house. After a struggle, the youths took off on their bikes with the goods. One of the boys was later arrested and charged with breaking and entering, aggravated assault, possession of stolen property and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. ★ ★ ★ Barbara Snyder, 28, was robbed by three men in South Dade who forced her off the road with their car, Friday, Aug. 20, at 3 p.m. Officers reported that after Ms. Snyder was forced to stop her car, at SW 62nd Avenue and 48th Street, one of the threesome put a revolver to her head and took her purse. West Dade Sergeant Sam Stephens of the Metro West District substation reported that over the week-end of Friday, Aug. 20, at least 15 license tag decals were reported stolen from residents' cars. The officer said the rash of decal rip-offs are continuing, and that thieves generally cut the corners to remove the decals and keep them intact. Coral Gables Scott A. Miller, 21, who lives at 930 Alfonso Ave., complained to police that he discovered his dog missing from his fenced-in back yard Wednesday, Aug. 18. Miller, who said he found the back gate open, described the dog as a female, fawn-colored, 13-year-old ridgeback, 10 inches tall and weighing 15 pounds.
