Perrine CBers will patrol Alley

The Perrine REACT club of Citizen Band radio operators will be patrolling Alligator Alley and surrounding roads during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Bob Lewis, a REACT advisor in Naranja, said Tuesday, Aug. 24, that the club will maintain a rest stop equipped with coffee and doughnuts along the Alley and will have radio equipped cars patrolling to help motorists in trouble. The PEARO (Perrine Emergency Assistance Radio Operators) REACT members will be wearing blue pants, white shirts and identifying badges. Their cars and vans will also be clearly identified. The REACT cars will display yellow lights and will be available to help motorists until police, ambulances, wreckers, or other needed assistance arrives.

SELL IT WITH CLASSIFIED 666-7981

One cent will buy you 50 minutes of TV, or 3 hours and 44 minutes of radio, or 20 hours of electric shaving, or 2 hours and 30 minutes of a 100 watt light bulb, or 140 hours time on your electric clock. Who says a penny won't buy anything anymore?

As a matter of fact, one little penny's worth of electricity buys quite a bit of entertainment, necessity and luxury. For only a cent you can edge your lawn for an hour and a half, or mix batter for a cake for 31⁄2 hours, or toast 28 pieces of bread, or sew for over four hours, or fry 52 eggs, or listen to three hours of your favorite recorded music or drill about 360 holes with your electric drill. However, if you're like most people you probably never realized just how much a penny is really worth where electricity is concerned. So, even though your bills have gone up recently due to inflation and the fuel crisis, electricity is still one of the best values around. It's even a better value when you use it wisely.
