CG Jaycees make ready for trip to Colombia, S.A.

The Coral Gables Jaycees is preparing for its annual trip to South America. This year's destination is Medellin, Colombia, where Jaycees will arrive with more than $50,000 worth of medical supplies. The international trip is open to all. The round trip charter fare is approximately $200. The Jaycees will present Medellin's mayor with a key to Coral Gables and will distribute the medical supplies to hospitals, schools and charities. gables news Parent conference Parents of children with specific learning disabilities can get information and assistance on coping with their children's problems, and the effect of those problems on the family, from the Coral Gables Chapter of ACLD (Association for Children with Learning Disabilities). Monthly parent discussions will be held in the library of Ponce de Leon Junior High School on the third Wednesday of each month, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The discussions, lead by professionals, are free and open to the public. Dates set for the upcoming school year are Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, Dec. 15, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18. Coral Gables Senior High's adult education program will be offering a new set of classes in commercial and advertising art beginning Aug. 30.
