Brothers Two offers two moods | place settings

BROTHERS TWO, 13515 S. Dixie Highway, 253-8200. Steak and seafood. Salad bar. Price range: $4.55 to $8.95. Lounge with dancing and entertainment nightly. Dark English Pub atmosphere. Parking lot. Serving until 5 a.m. daily. Mastercharge, American Express and BankAmericard accepted. The Brothers Two, at 13515 S. Dixie Highway, professes to give "promise to the weary traveler of pleasures awaiting within" in the tradition of Old English public houses or inns. And to the worktired South Miami resident, the steakhouse and lounge offers two different moods for his evening relaxation. Enter the cool, dark quiet dining area, and settle into private wood booths for a peaceful dinner attended by soft-spoken waitresses. Or stop by later when the band winds up and head for the back lounge for some good mellow music and a drink. And, though our weary South Dade traveler might grow wearier waiting for the refreshment, the food is excellent. Though ostensibly an English pub, the Brothers spice up their menu with some surprsing specials teaming Western beef and a foreign dish. Tender sirloin steak and mild enchiladas is one such combo, as is the steak and pasta entree, both priced at $6.95. The Veal Escallopine Francaise is a delicious bargain at $5.95. Three large slices of thin-sliced breaded veal flavored with lemon and spices are almost too much to eat, especially teamed with the creamy potatoes au gratin. A seafood buff will get ample quantities of fresh fish, but most of the menu consists of tender beefsteaks or prime rib. The all-you-can-eat salad bar features crisp vegetables and four dressing, but creamy imported Roquefort dressing costs 50 cents extra. Brothers Two is a good place for night owls, as they serve daily until 5 a.m. Two after-midnight specials are steak and eggs, served with home fried potatoes and toast ($4.75) and sirloin thumb bits with french fries at $3.25. * * * 'Tis the season for Florida lobster and they're available now at your favorite seafood restaurant. For instance, at Captain's Tavern, 9621 S. Dixie Highway, you can get a complete dinner with local lobster for $5.95. * * * You can now dine and dance at Grentner's International Cuisine, which recently changed its name from Grentner's for Steak. New international dishes have been added to the menu and the piano bar now boasts a dance floor. — CLAIRE ORTALDA
