Chain Gang Author Will Address Women
Vincent Burns, author of the best seller "I Am A Fugitive from A Chain Gang," which Warner Bros. made into a movie, will be guest speaker Monday at the Coral Gables Woman's Club annual Fine Arts Breakfast at noon. Mr. Burns is making his second appearance at the club and is returning by popular request. He will read and interpret some of his poems. He impersonates the characters he created in his poetry by wearing colorful costumes, giving his talk in lecture form. Mrs. Lloyd Rees, fine arts chairman, is program chairman and Mrs. James Anderson has arranged for a musical program. Mrs. James Beville is chairman of decorations. Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge also awarded Burns high honors for his address "The Four Fundamentals of American Idealism." Members and their friends are invited. 50 Members Turn Out For Morning Golf
An even 50 members of the Country Club of Coral Gables Women's Golf Association turned out for Friday's morning rounds on the Granada Golf course. There were five winning teams in the Best Ball foursome tournament. They were Mrs. U. Kasper and Mrs. Don M. Stevenson, who shot a 32 to come up first place. Second honors went to Mrs. E. R. Young and Mrs. R. Budd, who scored 33. Three ties with teams scoring 33 were Mrs. G. E. Hall and Mrs. A. Dohre; Mrs. V. R. Marsh and Mrs. Krit Logsdon; Mrs. Ann Franklin and Mrs. Paul Sage.
Waldrons To Make Home In Arizona
MRS. NEAL E. WALDRON On a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, with destination Chandler, Ariz., where they will reside, are Mr. and Mrs. Neal Edward Waldron, whose wedding took place Sunday at the Plymouth Congregational Church, Coconut Grove. The bride, the former Joanne Kathryn Price, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Price Jr., 8817 Hammock Lake Dr. The groom is the son of Mrs. Ray Waldron, 5025 SW 75th St., and the late Mr. Waldron. Candlelight Service Dr. David J. Davis, pastor, officiated at the 8 p.m., candlelight service. The couple exchanged vows in double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length candlelight satin gown made on princess lines, the fitted bodice featuring Alencon lace with seed pearls, the bell skirt falling into a chapel train. Her finger tip veil of illusion fell from a tiara of lace and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids, sweetheart roses and nodosa. Suzanne Frances Price, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Barbara Lee Babbitt and Lee Anne Fitzpatrick were bridesmaids. Beige Taffeta They wore identical gowns fashioned of beige taffeta trimmed in dark brown velvet and carried bouquets in crescent shape made of green Cymbidium orchids and brown strap Vanda's. David Wilson Hall Jr., was best man. Ushers were Don Ray Waldron, brother of the groom; William Price III, brother of the bride, and Albert Reker, brother-in-law of the groom. The reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. Gables Graduate The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended the University of Mississippi and the University of Miami where she pledged Delta Zeta Sorority. She is the granddaughter of the senior Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Price, pioneer family of Miami, and a member of the Coral Reef Yacht Club. The groom, a commissioned officer in the Air Force, was graduated from Coral Gables High School and the University of Miami where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, social fraternity, Arnold Air Society and the Reserve Officers Association. He will enter Flight School on March 13 in Chandler, Ariz.

Here's Chance To Brush Up On Samba
Ladies, how's your zamba been lately? Not so good? Then why not limber up your fingers and give samba a work-out? What is "samba" you ask? It's a card game, like canasta. And the past president's parley of Lindley DeGarmo Unit Number 70, American Legion Auxiliary, will give you a chance to try your zamba skill Feb. 14. At 8 p.m. that day, the public and the Unit's members are invited to a game party at the Legion home, 2903 McFarlane Rd. If you like to play cards, be it canasta, bridge or any other type of card game, then the welcome mat is out for you. Refreshments will be served. Donation to the games party is $1.
Literature Group
Members of the Literature Group of the South Miami Woman's Club will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the home of Mrs. Russell Blue. Short story or poem for the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs annual contest will be the program.
Club To Hear Excerpts From Opera 'Martha'
The Coral Gables Music Club will discuss the opera "Martha" and listen to musical excerpts from the work at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 14, at the home of Mrs. Carleton Tweed, 927 Valencia Ave. Chairman of the opera study group is Mrs. John O'Neill. Narrator is Mrs. Larry Craig. Heading the cast is Kenneth Osbrink as Plunket, Bob McAfee as Tristan, Delores Fink as Nancy and Beatrice O'Barr as Lady Harriet. Accompanist will be Helen White. After the program, there'll be a social hour. Hostesses will be Mrs. Tweed, Mr Fred Mizer, Mrs Homer Rolm, Mrs. Wilma Leash and Mrs. Millie Nelson.
Sigmund Spaeth To Give Lecture
Dr. Sigmund Spaeth, noted musicologist and author, will lecture Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the University of Miami. His topic will be "Music for Everybody," illustrated with piano selections. He will be introduced by Dr. Fabien Sevitzky, conductor of the UM Symphony Orchestra. The lecture at 3 p.m. in the 720 Dormitory building will be the fifth in a series sponsored by Delta Theta Mu, arts and sciences honorary, and the UM student government. Admission is by $1 donation.

Mother-Daughter Fashion Show
The Epiphany Home and School Association will sponsor a mother-daughter fashion show and tea on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2 p.m., at the Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club. African Violet Will Be Topic
Mrs. J. C. Caldwell, 5850 SW 85th St., will be hostess at 10 a.m., Feb. 14, at a meeting of the Suburban Garden Club. Mrs. L. B. Hicks, program chairman, will present the speaker, Miss Ann Grimshawe, who is an authority on the culture of African Violets, she will bring some interesting and valuable information to club members concerning their care.
