Nancy Ann Brown Is Bride Of Charles G. Carothers
Mr. and Mrs. Alph H. Brown, of 7260 SW 52nd Ave., announce the marriage of their daughter, Nancy Ann, to Charles Graham Carothers, son of Dr. and Mrs. Milton W. Carothers, of 542 Miccosukee Rd., Tallahassee. The Riviera Presbyterian Church was the setting for the 7:30 p.m. Friday service with the Rev. John D. Henderson, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Milton S. Carothers, brother of the groom, officiating. The bride and groom exchanged vows and rings in double ceremonies. Silk Organza Gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of silk organza featuring a fitted bodice, bouffant skirt accented with a short peplum and a large tailored bow in back, the skirt sweeping into a chapel train. Re-embroidered Alencon lace etched the entire bodice featuring a Sabrina neckline and bracelet length sleeves. Her French illusion veil fell from an organza and pearl crown. She carried an heirloom handkerchief which belonged to her maternal grandmother and a white Bible given to her by her paternal grandfather. The Bible was covered with a cluster of Phalaenopsis orchids. The bride's six attendants wore identical gowns of irridescent green taffeta, made ballerina length with fitted bodice, portrait neckline and cap sleeves. Matching headpieces of tailored bows completed their ensembles. They carried crescents of bronze toned mums. Bride's Attendants They were Helen Carothers, of Tallahassee, twin sister of the groom, maid of honor; Kathy Browne of Maitland and Mary Lew Browne of Miami, cousins of the bride; Jackie Eads of Miami; Lynn La Grange of Tallahassee, and Mrs. Richard Smith of Atlanta. Dr. Carothers was best man for his son. Ushers were Drew Boggs and Coyle Moore Jr., Tallahassee; Jim Stone of Jacksonville; Robert Temple of Branford and Alph H. Browne, brother of the bride. The reception followed in the reception rooms of the church. The bride's mother wore a powder blue lace and silk organza sheath with tucked detail and taffeta flare inlay. Her accessories matched and she wore white orchids. The groom's mother chose a champagne color lace sheath gown with matching accessories. Her corsage was composed of orchids.
