Grove Legion To Show Film

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m., Lindley DeGarmo American Legion Post No. 70 will hold a special Americanism program at their clubhouse, 2903 McFar-lane Road, Coconut Grove. A Legion "Citation of Achievement" for Americanism will be awarded to a local news analyst and commentator. Presentation of the citation and medal will be made by Americanism Chairman William M. Lyon Jr. and Post Commander Peter Pepper. The program will also feature a special address on "Americanism" by Judge Vincent C. Giblin, and the controversial film, "Operation Abolition", which has been shown by Legion Posts throughout the country, and which is under current attack by the American Civil Liberties Union, will be shown to the audience. The public is invited to attend.

Osteopathic Association Honors Dr. Stephen Gibbs

Dr. Stephen B. Gibbs of Coral Gables was awarded a distinguished service certificate by the American Osteopathic Association recently at the AOA annual convention in the Carillon and Deauville hotels. He was cited for service to the association over his 45 years in practice. Besides being president of his county and state societies, Dr. Gibbs served for 12 years as a trustee and one year as first vice president of the AOA.

Loew's Riviera is celebrating its fifth Anniversary with Ray Stark's technicolor productions of "The World of Suzie Wong" with William Holden now showing. The Riviera has several top pictures booked to follow "Suzie Wong", "Pepe" will open around the first of March starring Cantinflas, Dean Martin and Shirley Jones and a guest cast of 35 stars. Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine open on March 30 in a Paramount release entitled "In A Night's Work."
