MRS. RONALD G. WILLIAMS / Newlyweds Leave For Trip To Nassau

MRS. RONALD G. WILLIAMS. On a honeymoon trip to Nassau are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gary Williams, following their Saturday wedding at the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables. The bride, the former Miss Irene Rodriquez, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rene Rodriquez, 2861 SW 36th Ct. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Monroe Williams, 9340 SW 174th St., Perrine. Bride's Gown. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of imported Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. The fitted bodice was designed with a Sabrina neckline and long point-at-hand sleeves. The bouffant skirt of lace and tulle swept to a regal train in back. Her French illusion veil fell from a queen's crown. She carried a cascade of white roses centered with a white orchid. The bride was attended by Miss Karen Stoltz, 620 Camilo St., as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lynne Thompson, sister of the groom of Ft. Myers; Miss Judy Pass, Miami Beach and Miss Melinda Movius of Miami. They wore identical gowns of Aqua lace and peau de soie designed with lace bodice, soit skirts and back bow. They wore matching Dior bows with tiny veils and carried white carnations centered with aqua carnations in cascade bouquets. Flower Girl. Angie O'Brien was flower girl and Ronnie Lopez, cousin of the groom, ring bearer. Darrell Measel, Perrine, was best man. Ushers were Efrain Tom Surez Jr. and Richard Roy Suarez, cousins of the bride, and Mike Holt, all of Miami, and J. M. Williams Jr., brother of the groom, Perrine. Dr. Lewis N. Head officiated at the 8 p.m., candlelight double ring ceremony. Norman Clayton was soloist, and Helen White, organist. The reception followed in the church lounge. Among-out-of-town guests at the wedding were the bride's maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rogelio Santirzo of Tampa; J. P. Jones and Ron Kirchman of Belle Glade; Miss Sylvia Smith of Ft. Myers; David Cox of Eustis; Steve Johnson of Clewiston; John Kavulia of East Patterson, N. J., and Rick Allen of Palm Harbor, Fla. Gables Graduate. The bride is a graduate of Coral Gables High School. She is presently a student at the University of Florida with a major in psychology. She is active in the women student organizations at Florida and a member of Fort Dallas, Order of Rainbow Girls. The bridegroom, a graduate of South Dade High School, attended Marion Military Institute and is now a senior at the University of Florida where he is social chairman of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. The couple will live in Gainesville.

Gablegrams by helen reynolds society editor. IT WAS A SURPRISE. It was Hannelore (Mrs. F. J.) Hill's birthday yesterday, and Pat (Mrs. H. W.) Cook Jr. gave a surprise birthday luncheon at her home on Trevino Ave. for her. Invited were Mrs. Harry Graham, Mrs. Tom Stokes, Mrs. Sidney Kass, Mrs. Carl Haub, Mrs. W. R. Cunningham, Mrs. Harrison Faith and Mrs. Joseph Coppedge. Hannelore and Pat were co-chairmen for the recent fashion show at the Country Club of Coral Gables. * * * * * HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY. Orchids to Mrs. Wade Fetzer, of 4800 San Amaro Dr. and Hinsdale, Ill., who celebrated her 82nd birthday in her Coral Gables home Thursday. Lucky Mrs. Fetzer, mother of four, two daughters and two sons, had them all home for the occasion. From Hinsdale were Mrs. Fetzer's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Sherman and family, and Wade Fetzer Jr. and family of Chicago. Locally, her children are Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Schofield Bryant and three daughters, Margaret Ann, Mary Nell and Patrica of Miami Shores, and Dr. and Mrs. John C. Fetzer and family, 4801 Alhambra Cir. Mrs. Fetzer, who is blessed with good health, loves her winters here in Coral Gables and enjoys summers in Illinois. * * * * * BACK TO THE GRIND FOR NICKY PARSON. Nancy "Nicky" Parson who had seven days between semesters at home with her parents, the Franklin Parson's, of 839 Catalonia, left yesterday for Tallahassee, where she is a freshman at Florida State University. Her mother, Esther, a member of the Country Club of Coral Gables Women's Golf Association, tells us she and her husband have also joined the new Palmetto Golf and Country Club which closed its membership at 500. She also said the 18 hole Palmetto course is a dandy—with water hazards and some narrow fairways. The Palmetto course had the practiced hand and eye of that golfing genius, Henry Russell Jr., and his dad, better known as Hawley Russell, who had a hand in creating the layout of the Riviera Country Club Golf Course. Henry and his wife, Betty, both graduates of Duke University, have three sons, Henry III, senior engineering major at Duke; Aubrey, nicknamed "Mac", 17, and Chris. But it is Mac who has inherited the golfing go and skill in the family. * * * * * Big event in the life of Mrs. Cecelia Utsey Kern, 3610 Alhambra Ct., will be as the first passenger in the second cross country flight of her youngest son, Frank B. "Chip" Kern Jr. Chip, a commercial aviation student, took his instructions at the Flight School in Kendall. In March he will make his first solo cross country flight—a six hour run from Miami to Lakeland and back to earn his wings. Chip is a junior at Coral Gables High School. Chip's next older brother, Craig Kern, a lieutenant in the Air Force, stationed at the Richard Gebaur Base near Kansas City, will leave for Greenland in April and his new base of operations. However, he will be home again (he was here at Christmas) March 3-8 to enter the Sawgrass Small Bore Tournament to be held at the Trail Glades Range. While Craig was here, Ceil gave a theatre party for both Craig and their dates, Ann Strakan and Pam Knight, Chip's girl, to see Kirk Douglas in "Spartacus." Ladies' auxiliary of the Florida Cattleman's Association are know as "Kowbelles."
