House 109 Gersten

State Representative Joe Gersten, 29, a local attorney, is seeking re-election as a Democrat to District 109. Elected to the House in 1974, Gersten served on subcommittees for the Governmental Operations Committee, the Growth and Energy Committee and the Human Rights (Select) Committee com-mittee. The long-time Dade County resident attended New York University, Sophia University in Japan, University of Maryland, and University of Miami School of Law. Gersten is executive vice-president of the Dade County Young Democrats, a board Member of Transition, Inc. and active in South Miami and Coral Gables Chambers of Commerce, among many other civic organizations. Stephens

Eddie Stephens, Jr., 36, a stockbroker and former active participant in his father's clothier business, is running as a Democrat for the State House of Representatives in District 109. A fifth generation Floridian, Stephens, is a graduate of Ranson School, Coral Gables, and Florida State University, and served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Currently coordinator of volunteers for the Comprehensive Alcohol Program at South Miami Hospital, he has belonged to such civic organizations as C.A.R. DeMolay Rotary Club of Miami and the Excutive Association of Miami. Stephens

Jim Beck, 34, a private investigator, is seeking election on the Democrat-ic ticket to the State House of Representatives, District 110. A former Metro police officer, Beck served with the U.S. Marines. Currently he is a member and past director of the Coral Gables Jaycees. A graduate of Miami Dade Community College, Beck currently attends Florida International University. He is a former president of the Coconut Grove Jaycees and currently acts as volunteer football coach at the South West Boys Club. Beck, a native Floridian, resides in Coral Gables. Beck

Fox

Roberta Fox, 33, a Coral Gables attorney, is a Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 110. Ms. Fox has been active in local and national committees and organizations, including Crime Watcher Program, Coral Gables. National Women's Political Caucus and Planned Parenthood. She has served as treasurer to the National Organization for Women and chairperson for Sex-based Discrimination Committee of Minority Affairs Committee at the Democratic Issues Convention. A Coral Gables Senior High School graduate, she received both her B.A. and her law degree from the University of Florida. She is married to Mike Gold, who is her law partner and a former Assistant Attorney General. They live with his daughter, Shari, in South Miami. Fox

Sackett

Dr. Walter W. Sackett, Jr., 70, is a Democratic candidate for re-election as State Representative for District 110. A state representative since 1966, he is vice-chairman of the Health Rehabilitation Committee. He has practiced medicine in Coral Gables since 1941. He is an attending physician at Ben Sheppard's Methadone Clinic and at St. Joseph's Villa. The author of two books on infant care, Sackett has served as a member of the advisory committees on Polio Vaccine and Arthritis and to the Surgeon General of the United States. He was educated at Harvard University, the University of Miami, the University of Alabama, Chicago University, Cornell Medical School and Cook County Graduate School of Medicine. Sackett

House 111 Dunn

Dr. Marvin Dunn, Director of the Cultural and Human Interaction Center, Florida International University, is a Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 11. Dr. Dunn is an associate professor of psychology at F.I.U. A graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, he received his doctorate in psychology at the University of Tennessee in 1972. Besides his membership on the Executive Committee, Dade County District Mental Health Board, he is also treasurer of the Florida State Association of District Mental Health Boards. He is chairperson of the Coconut Grove Community Development Citizens Task Force and a member of the Dade County Transit Advisory Committee. Dunn and his wife Linda have five children. Dunn

Alonso Menendez, 42, an import-export businessman, is a Democratic candidate for State House of Representatives for District 111. A lawyer and a C.P.A. educated in Havana, Cuba, Menendez attended Marmiom Military Academy in Illinois for his high school education. A founder and past director of Spanish-Speaking Democratic Caucus, he also helped found the League of Latin Voters. He is past director of the Latin American Democratic Club and a member of the Eighth Street Beautification Committee. Menendez

Argie Reynolds, 51, an 18-year Dade County resident, is a Democrat running for the office of Florida House of Representatives in District 111. A veteran local and national political campaign worker, Mrs. Reynolds has worked for Congressman Dante Fascell, President John F. Kennedy and Unites States Senator Spessard Holland, among others. Robert S. Hosman, 33, associate professor of English at the University of Miami, is a Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 113. Hosman, who served a three-year term as chairman of the UM's Department of English, is also public advisory board chairman for the Lowe Art Museum. In addition he is co-owner of Le Boheme Restaurant in Miami. Hosman received his undergraduate degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. and his master's and doctorate degrees from Arizona State University. The

Ronald S. Lieberman, 30, a Miami attorney, is a Democratic contender for the Florida House of Representatives, District 113. A former prosecutor in the office of Dade State Attorney Richard Gerstein, the native Miamian was elected as a delegate from the 15th Congressional District to the National Democratic Party Mid-Term Convention in Kansas City in 1974 and has served since then as a member of the Dade County Democratic Executive Committee.
