Candidates for County Court judgeships

Group Six

Delapa Fred Delapa, 33, resigned as director of the Pretrial Intervention program to run for County Judge. A graduate of University of Toledo College of Law, he is married and has two children. He was staff attorney and deputy court administrator to Dade Courts of the 11th Judicial Circuit from 1973 to 1976. He founded and served as director of the Citizens Dispute Settlement Center for arbitrating neighborhood disputes and related misdemeanors. Goldstein Harvey L. Goldstein, 36, recently Assistant State Attorney, is a candidate for election to Dade County Court. The 30-year resident of South Florida earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida. A former Captain in the U.S. Air Force, he is active in numerous legal organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers, the Dade County Bar Association and the American Judacature Society. Stanley E. Goodman, 44, a former Associate City Attorney of North Miami, is seeking the office of Dade County Judge. A North Miami police man from 1955 to 1958, Goodman received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Miami. The former Dade County school teacher is active in the Crime Prevention and Juvenile Deliquency committee of the Florida Bar, the Good Government committee of the Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce and advisor to the Jewish National Fund. Seaman Charles L. Seaman, 56, a former assistant municipal judge for the City of Coral Gables, is County Court candidate. A practicing attorney in Dade County for 25 years, Seaman served as chairman of the City of Coral Gables Trial Board from 1963 to 1971. Before coming to Florida, he served as research assistant to the assistant district attorney in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Seaman holds degrees from the University of Dayton, Boston College, Columbia University and the University of Miami.

Group 8

Ader Marshal H. Ader, 57, a local attorney, is a candidate for Judge of the County Court. A graduate of university of Miami School of Law and Northwestern University, Ader is a member of the American, Dade County and Chicago Bar Associations and is affiliated with the American Arbitration Association. His activities with the Florida Bar Association have included membership on the committee on legal education and the committee on "specialization," as well as other committees. Klein Murray Klein, 51, an attorney and World War II veteran is a candidate for County Judge. A graduate of John B. Stetson University and the University of Miami Law School, Klein is a former newspaper editor and school teacher. He is a member of Bayshore Homeowners Association and currently serves as Neutral Arbitrator for American Arbitration Association. He served for four years as City Commission Appointee to the Stadium Advisory Board for the Orange Bowl.

Buchanan

T. A. Buchanan, 51, a former Dade Sheriff and currently Homestead magistrate, is a candidate for County Court Judge. A 41-year Dade County resident, Buchanan graduated from Miami Senior High School. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from University of Miami. He volunteered for service during World War II and served in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator-bombadier. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1971 with the rank of major. Buchanan attends First United Methodist Church of Homestead.

Edelman

Philip Edelman, 51, a graduate of University of Miami Law School, is a candidate for County Court Judge. A 34-year Dade County resident, he has practiced law for 26 years. He served as general counsel to the National Bishops League of Florida and spent six years as a board of directors member for the Urban League of Greater Miami. Edelman is married and has two children.

Group 17

McShane Leo McShane, 55, an attorney and former law professor at the University of Miami, is a candidate for County Judge, Group 17. From January 1972 through 1975 McShane served in the United States Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, as assistant Public Defender for 18 months and for 30 months as Chief Public Defender. He is a 1954 graduate of the University of Miami Law School. Schwartz Richard Alan Schwartz, 32, an attorney and vice-president of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce, is running for County Court Judge. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the SD Chamber. His other civic memberships include the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and the Florida, Dade County and American Bar Associations. He is president of the Perrine-Cutler Ridge Civitan Club and past president of the Founders Club.

Terry

Glenn Terry, 29, a Coconut Grove attorney, is a candidate for County Judge, Group 17. The native Miamian graduated from Hialeah High School and received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida. After graduation from law school, he worked for two years for the State's Department of Business Regulation as a prosecutor and as a judge in administrative hearings. Terry is a member of the Hialeah First United Methodist Church, served on the ACLU legal panel and acts as legal advisor to a guidance clinic.

Zemlock

Albert Zemlock, 48, a resident of Miami Beach, is a candidate for County Court Judge. Zemlock has been a practicing attorney for 25 years. He has served for two years as Assistant Council in the office of the New York State Controller handling the investment of retirement funds monies, and for one year he served as the deputy County Clerk in Queens County, New York. A graduate of the University of Miami, where he received his B.A., he has also done graduate work.
